look at his twitter, for whatever that is worth, he just has seemed super engaged all year.
And he committed to LSU after his freshman season in high school. But hey you never know. The new transfer rules makes it easy for any kid to get a fresh start very quickly.

San Diego kid, could just be home sick & culture shocked
Let the new coach get in there and talk to him and it could all just be fine
He's not elite in the field or at the plate. There needs to be 'Summer of 10,000 ground balls' for a couple of our infielders if defense is going to improve enough to be championship level. And some serious hitting instruction as well.

And the type of shite I specifically didn't want in this thread.

Hope we can convince thompson and arnold to stay.

I'm going through and adding all the summer assignments I'm aware of. If anyone has more, let me know.

What's the general consensus on Hilliard, Fontenot, and Labas?
We thinking Hilliard comes back for one more season or do we think all 3 are probably signing with a team after they get drafted?

Great thread, glad to see we are stocking up on RHP, cant ever have too many.

I dont think labas gets drafted, so i could see him coming back. Fontenot, just my guess, but is probably ready to start his pro career. Hilliard, who knows, heard mixed things on him

Agree project. Everyone should wait for the new coach before they make a decision. See what plans he has for them and where they fit

We currently stand at 53 players for 40 roster spots. The draft will take a toll on the current roster and the incoming recruits. I don't think we are finished adding to the class at this point either. We don't need to be at 40 until the Spring.
So the COVID extra year is still there, but they will count against roster limit (unlike this year)?

I'm counting them against the 40 at this time, but I don't think that has been decided yet.

I don't see how Hilliard projects at the next level. Paul Bertuccini 2.0.

At the current moment, these are our biggest draft risks of the incoming freshmen:
Grant Taylor - RHP (305)
Brock Selvidge - LHP (87)
Josh Pearson - OF (NR)
Ian Moller - C (72)
Cale Lansville - RHP (204)
Ben Kudrna - RHP(68)
Luke Leto - OF/DH/1B (228)
Carter Jensen - C (71)
Connor Simon - IF (292)
Added Baseball America's draft ranking in parentheses as of 5/3. This includes both HS and collegiate players. The end of round 3 is pick # 101 slotted for $577,000 in this year's draft. I wouldn't recommend any kid forgo a chance to play at LSU if offered under $500K but to each their own.

Damn, so we probably aren’t getting either catcher, huh?

FanGraphs just updated their draft board today. It goes to 71 players, as that is the number of first day picks.
Hill, Kudrna, and Moller were the only LSU associated players on the list. They will expand it as we get closer to the draft.
But between BA and FG, we're looking at Moller projected as a day 1 pick.
For those who don't normally look at the draft rankings, it used to just be BA as the go to. Now, FanGraphs does good work, ESPN (Kiley McDaniel), The Athletic (Keith Law), and MLB.com (of course) are all worth refencing as well.
They all have different industry sources and look at slightly different things when ranking players, but they've all got merit.

Thank you Project! Great stuff.
Had no idea this new summer “MLB Draft League” existed. I will definitely check out a game, all 6 teams are pretty near to me in Va.
