If Wyeth stays he will likely take his spot if the competition is truly open. Wyeth is a much better hitter once he gets going. He is from the Austin area and used to tear it up there.

Isn't that the truth, but this is not your normal draft year.

How will the NIL discussion change the top player's decision given that college baseball is at an all time high in popularity? There's also talk of a MLB work stoppage next year. If that happens, how will it impact players entering pro ball? I don't have good answers.

Does this mean all your recruiting info will be posted about Tennessee now?

I don't know if Alex Milazzo gets drafted this year or not, but in a full 30 round draft, I could definitely see it happening. Even the keyboard ranters could see him stepping back on his swings and pulling his head from time to time. I think there would be at least one organization that thinks they have a hitting coach that could fix that and get him to a serviceable .250 hitter which could give you a long major league career as a back up catcher.

Milazzo is lucky to be on our roster as is. You’re talking about him being drafted and then making an opening day roster? Dude. No. Not in this lifetime.

I watched this cat bat less than .150 for 50+ games. He is what he is. If he is somehow starting next year then the new coach failed to upgrade the position.

That guy is a complete black hole on your roster.

We're seeing a gradual change that's starting to stock the D1 and JUCO pond with more and more talented players. It's no surprise but three year guys are much safer draft picks outside of maybe the first and second round.

I'm not saying he will be successful. I am saying I think at least one organization is going to THINK they have a hitting coach to help him out because of how good his defense is.

Collier Cranford - IF

If it hasn’t already been stated yet, according to the BR Rougarou guy talking on AFR last week, Cranford will be playing with them this summer.

Good info, thank you. I will add it to the OP. He was briefly listed on the roster for the Martha's Vineyard Sharks in the NECBL. So, just from a "places I'd rather spend summer" standpoint, it's a bit of a downgrade.

So Milazzo and Beloso are playing for the same team in Cape Cod?

As it currently stands. These things are fluid though. The Cape League doesn't start until a week from now though.

ETA: So fluid, in fact, that Milazzo isn't listed on their roster anymore. Thank you for encouraging me to check. Morgan and Beloso are still listed. Though Morgan is now listed as an infielder and Beloso an outfielder.

Well...I’ve just checked the Rougarou roster, and he’s not yet listed. So, I guess we’ll see.

The context in which he was discussed last week was that he went from not being on the NCAA roster for the Regional and close to reporting to the team, to being on the Super roster because someone was injured.

Between his incoming freshman year when he was hurt, last year with covid and then being hurt over the summer, this is something like the 5th summer roster hes been on and off of. I'm guessing I'll either see him pop up in another league soon, like the Florida or South Florida League, or we'll find out later he was dinged up again.

I do think that him never going out for summer ball has hurt his development.

I agree 100%. A lot of our hitters in the past have done well getting instruction outside of campus. It never hurts to have a fresh set of eyes and someone new working with you.

Thanks for all of the great work ProjectP2294!
I am anxious to see the impact of the new coach on all of the players.
