I do this thread every year to aggregate news on roster turnover and track what players will be here in the fall. As always, I welcome help in gathering the info, but prefer no speculation or commentary on players you feel shouldn't be on the roster.

2-43 Ben Kudrna - signed Royals
2-44 Jaden Hill - signed Rockies

We currently stand at 53 players for 40 roster spots. The draft will take a toll on the current roster and the incoming recruits. I don't think we are finished adding to the class at this point either. We don't need to be at 40 until the Spring.

I will update this thread as new information becomes available with the transfer portal, the draft, the new coach, etc. As I have time, I will add links for the guys playing summer ball so you can track their stats easily.

- 6/22 - Kaminer entering the transfer portal, we are at 52/40 for next year.

- 6/30 - Arnold in the portal we stand at 51/40 for next season.

- With Rice in the portal we are at 50/40.

- 7/1 - with the Millas news, we are at 49/40.

- 7/3 - with the addition of Jacob Berry, we are at 50/40.

- with the two transfers on 7/7 we are at 52/40.

- 7/13 at the conclusion of the draft, with the addition of Trey Shaffer and the assumption that every draftee signs, we are at 47/40.

- 7/16 - With Labas signing, we are at 46/40.

- 7/16 - With the addition of Collins we are at 47/40.

- 7/16 - Sanford’s exit puts us at 46/40

- 7/19 - After this weekend's flurry of activity, we are at 48/40.

- 7/23 - We are now at 49/40 with the add of Haddad.

New coach is going to need to crush the transfer/JUCO market.

I will start adding that in. I have to get the base post done because issues with my web browser. It's easier to go back and edit.

ETA: Added in positions.

Can you provide some insight on which recruits are likely to get drafted in the top 5-7 rounds and likely going pro?

Why? It would be great if they did, but why do you think the new coach HAS to crush the transfer/JUCO market?

At the current moment, these are our biggest draft risks of the incoming freshmen:
Grant Taylor - RHP
Brock Selvidge - LHP
Josh Pearson - OF
Ian Moller - C
Cale Lansville - RHP
Ben Kudrna - RHP
Luke Leto - OF/DH/1B
Carter Jensen - C
Connor Simon - IF

Simon was hurt his senior year and indications are he intends to be on campus. I left him on the draft risk list based on talen t. Kudrna is almost assuredly gone. Pearson seems set on coming here, but is going off in summer ball which may inflate his draft stock. Leto's draft stock has been dropping, he's a likely candidate to get to campus.

One incoming LHP if I read correctly. Selvidge, Coleman, Brady, Hasty, Kaminer (if he returns) would give us five lefties. Not bad.

ETA: Anyone know if Moller and Jensen (if they come) would be good enough at C to unseat Milazzo?

Is Grant Fontenot, the pitcher out of Lafayette, not a risk anymore?

I thought early on the consensus would be that way.

Leto was listed as middle infield for a while, but he looks pretty raw defensively.

I'll add.

Hitters - Moller and Jensen seem to be the highest risks right now to sign. I look at it as if you get one you did really well.

Pitching - As you said Kudrna will most likely be a 1A round pick. After that Selvidge and Lansville are the two the watch, getting either would be great.

Both are far more advanced hitters. They'll need to refine their defense.

I watched Pearson’s brother play a minor league game for the Mississippi braves a couple of weeks ago. He is hot dog shite so hopefully his brother will think going to college to develop is the better route.

If either come they are starting day 1 IMO.

I agree but didn't want to toe the line of violating Project's thread rules since he did a lot of hard work here.

Don't forget transfer portal
You will see a lot of activity once draft is over
Maybe not on scale as basketball and football due to low schollies baseball deals with but it will be significant as attrition occurs

I think Fontenot, Marceaux and Hill all get drafted and sign and probably Labas as well

Dugas and Milazzo (based on defense alone) could go later in draft and decide to take that draft position

Potential transfer candidates based on playing time but all could stay and compete for a new coach:
Millas
Rice (not sure we ever got word on him, was he hurt?)
Money
Kaminer
Wyeth
Cranford
Brady (could follow Eddie Smith)

Travinski will most likely be limited due to his injury but should return
Beloso will likely come back and compete, I have no idea what happened to his swing but maybe a new hitting coach could get him back and he could be a DH option, has no position and maybe that affected his entire mindset
