When does crawfish season end? I’m just curious. They still selling them $5+ in SWLA.

I thought the shells got hard right after Mother’s Day but folks down here still wanting $5.45 a pound. No signs of slowing down.
Year round crawfish a thing now?
Crawfish prices ain’t ever going down again it seems.
Crawfish is too damn high!

Folks at the BoilHouse here in Houston said we got 2 weeks left.

I think the Valentines Day freeze forced a reset on the season this year

3.00 to 3.50 in SE LA. Still high for this time. But we did have a pretty good storm last year so I guess they have a legit excuse.

Regular folk can’t get wholesale prices. I’m finally in a position to boil my own and next year will finally be the year I can eat them with SWLA dusting

Please tell me this is sarcasm. If not, I can recommend a bunch of places that will destroy crawfish for you without you having to do it yourself.

I just boiled here in DFW at $3.45 a pound imported from LA.
They are gouging you.

This ends up being my unofficial routine
March-May, crawfish, fish frys
June-August, BBQ meats and watermelons
Sept-November, Boiled peanuts and Jambalaya
December-Feb, game meats, gumbos

That’s because SWLA blows and the sellers there are still trying to make money back by ripping people off. Head east to acadiana or into SELA.

Ole boys at the spillway boat ramp selling them 70$ a sack cash.

Had some last night. Still delicious and large. Not hard

Guy I know caught 12 sacks yesterday and sold them to the wholesaler for $50 a sack

Since Easter they have been going for around $3 a pound boiled. Haven’t checked in the past week to see if something has changed

They’ve already quit here. (In my corner of swla)

Not that it really matters but I mistyped. I should have said “without dusting”. Frickin autocorrect.
I hate dusting

Crawfish in the Spillway are still rocking.

Where do I buy these sacks from without a connect— at these cheap prices people claim for “live”

Try Belle River or Johnny’s Seafood in Berwick.
