I agree 100% and wonder who handed down the covid restrictions for the parish jail. Personally, I think corporal punishment should be an option for some crimes, especially theft.

It's because most of the smaller retailers have moved to a zero apprehension policy on shoplifters, and it's no secret.
The companies see it as too much of a liability and just write the product off as shrink

Same exact thing happens in BR. There’s shootings, aggravated assaults, and drive-by’s everyday that never make the news.
Homicides only make the BR news and 2020 murder stats are currently being demolished by this years numbers.
