Will Chalmette ever bounce back?

Almost 2 decades after Katrina it still looks like a war zone. Nothing but shitty duplexes, project apartments, and run down homes. Whole place is riddled with crime and drugs.
Chalmette used to be a good community. It was safe for being so close to New Orleans, people had a lot of civic pride and kept their neighborhoods clean. Sad to see what is has become

You could literally make this same thread about tons of suburbs around the country. The answer is right in front of us yet it keeps happening

There are a lot of decent areas around Chalmette. The prices people are paying for new homes in the area is outrageous.

A LOT of La cities haven't recovered from Katrina

Some surprisingly cheap real estate in Chalmette. Houses there cost as much as Hollygrove. Doesn't bode well for the future of da Parish.
