Baltimore

I hated everything about Baltimore the one time I’ve been as an adult. There was an abundance of shitty human beings I interacted with.

Homelessness in SF and Seattle is a major problem. Expect to see someone take a dump, shoot heroin, and pleasure themselves in the same day. I call it the hat trick

Seattle. It was overrun with homeless people living in tents, openly doing drugs in broad daylight, and there was garbage everywhere.

Atlantic City in the winter

I remember being really let down by Omaha. It smelled like cow shite everywhere.

Surprised to see Detroit listed by people that have actually been there. Went 2 years ago for a long weekend and was shocked at how much I liked it. Although admittedly my expectations could not have been lower. Greektown was fantastic. Had great food in several different parts of town, and every bar we hit was a great time.

Jumping back to Cincinnati most of the cities in OH are pretty bland though Cleveland is a little better.

People who are saying Cleveland sucks probably haven't been since the renovations started around 2010. Downtown is a very different place now. Downtown, Tremont, Ohio City, The Flats, and the west suburbs (like Lakewood) are a lot of fun. It isn't a world class city by any means, but it isn't the ghetto dump that it used to be.

Columbus is flat out awesome. That city is a lot of fun and is very nice/safe.

Shreveport is trash
Atlanta will only be returned to for sporting events or to change planes at the airport
Newark will similarly only be for facilitating air travel

All other large cities that I have visited have given me at least some good reasons to want to go back.

Given premise of this thread, Cleveland.
Actually that should be another thread titled "Cities that get shite on because people have never been and just repeat things they heard"

We had a training in Cleveland in May of 2019 and that city is pretty damn nice

why do people in this thread hate Philly so much? The people or something about the city itself? It's not my favorite place but I never had any strong negative feelings for it either

I can only answer for myself re Philly. I visited twice for work giving presentations at a downtown hotel/convention center. It was a terrible mix of things. Dirty, rude, miserable people, no appeal, just an overall dystopian vibe. The huge indoor market downtown was pretty cool. The sports complexes are in South Philly and people were taking public transportation there. Not bad, but hordes of drunks, high volume profanity, just trashy.

I visited Seattle for work in the 90's thinking it would be a dreary, rainy, depressing experience, but it was a GREAT city. I loved it.

Indianapolis. After one visits and spends time with their cold locals, it becomes very confusing on how the city keeps hosting major sporting events.
