Need advice on Tigerland apartment "Latitude 30* "

Lat30*
quick scenario:
My son finished school in January and misses Baton Rouge and his friends.
He doesn't want a roommate and he has a 60# labrador.
Rent is ~$750 including all utilities and is "pet friendly" and that is at the top of his budget to be able to afford any other living expenses. car note food etc.
He is determined to make it on his own.
He's 21 and will be acquiring his CCW
We as parents obviously don't want to see him coping with the ghetto, that is associated with TigerLand.
He thinks he'll be fine and had also chosen to live at Villas@Brightside previously because his roommate/best friend couldn't afford much else and nothing happened then.
looking for suggestions or advice I can pass along to help him out...or what we can educate him on that may change his mind.

Why doesn’t he want a roommate?
Wouldn’t want my childrens living in TL these days

He will be fine. Don’t worry about it.

1. Why would your college graduate son want to live by tiger land? Tell him to gro up and find brauds that will remember the next day
2. Take out a fatass life insurance policy. At 21 it will be dirt cheap. Profit

Terrible idea. That area is a total dump. If he really already graduated there is zero reason to live there
I'm guessing he just wants to be able to walk home from Freds every night
I would not let him live there

Some people graduate, not sure what they really want in life, so they go to grad school and rack up debt. Others move back home while they figure it out. OP’s son’s choice is as good as any. No shame in taking a little more time to figure it out at 21, especially if you’re paying your way.

I don't think you have much say over a 21 year old and you shouldn't. The apartments all around the area are fine, just not the old Sharlo and others in that stretch. Pick one of the newer joints.

I am trying to sublet an apartment in The Lodges. $600ish a month with utilities. Willing to pay a portion fo the rent. Great location and amenities.
If interested, send me an email address and I'll contact you with more details.

I wouldn’t want to live in Tigerland as a college student, much less after I graduated.

For $750/month he should look into buying a condo.
Pulling it up on Zillow there are plenty of $100-200k condos that will be much nicer than what you'll get renting without a roommate. I lived on Brightside View for 2 years and it looks like I could have easily bought a place there for what we were paying in rent.
