plaquemine . I have to run to my in laws house after work. I get off at 4:30 and I know the traffic is going to be terrible. Just trying to think of other options.

Inb4 take the loop.

From Plaquemine? Yeah I'd probably do that just so I didn't have to sit in traffic

Even if it's a little longer time wise I'd rather be moving than sitting in traffic

You'll still catch some traffic on 431 then back up at the light in port Vincent. The rest of the trip shouldn't be too bad. Unless a vessel hits the bridge, which is never out of the question.

It's ok if you go down 22 to Head of Island through French Settlement and Port Vincent to 16 but Damn that's a long drive, unless you are drinking.

I figured taking the Sunshine route I could make it to denham in 90 mins or so. No clue how long the "new" bridge way would take.

I wouldn't recommend it. Old bridge to Harding (which turns into Hooper after Plank) to Sullivan to Wax, over Magnolia Bridge into Denham. Or you can turn earlier than Sullivan onto Lovett and hit the Thruway to Florida. Depending where in Denham you are going. That's the fastest route I've found, and I've been working in Plaquemine for 4 years.

You would be faster taking 77 to Grosse tete.

Roughly 16 miles out of the way, but it would still be faster. You then have the option of I10 or Rosedale road back to the bridge. The bottleneck is the intracoastal bridge, not so much the horace Wilkinson.

Seconded. Although it’s mostly 2 lane highways and if you’re lucky like me you’ll get behind someone who’s going 20 below the speed limit

Never, let me repeat, NEVER take the new bridge. Even if it is moving, you will get stuck at College, the split, Airline, Sherwood, and even Millerville sometimes. I quit taking the new bridge years ago.

This is incorrect Rando. Yes, the intracoastal does get backed up. But if you take River Road you come out near the Wal-Mart and only have to sit in it for a short distance. Left lane, pass all of the new bridge idiots, go old bridge. Clear sailing after that.

Plaquemine Ferry, then take a right to St. Gabriel.
Left on Bayou Paul. That will take you to Old Perkins in Prairieville.
Take a right on Airline, then up 42 through Port Vincent.

Take hwy 1 up to the old bridge. Stay on airline until Choctaw. Take a left. Right on central thruway, left onto Florida blvd.

<---- doesn't believe in speed limits.

70-85 on 77
85-105 on I10

This is by far the best route.
