Everyone saying "take highway 1 to the old bridge" has clearly never sat on Hwy 1 north in the afternoon. That shite is backed up for miles into Brusly.

431 then back up at the light in port Vincent

I’m sitting in my front yard along 431. Be sure to blow the horn when you pass so I can show my arse.

If i leave Plaquemine anytime after 4 i go through Donaldsonville. I live in Denham. It takes longer time wise, but traffic is better. If you leave between 4:45 and 5:00 its a crap shoot either way you go cause plant traffic before and after the sunshine bridge is just as bad as the BR bridge.

You might get lucky with the Ferry though.

You can go up river road for quite a bit. But I’d legit go through Grosse Tete first.

Plaquemine Ferry, then take a right to St. Gabriel. Left on Bayou Paul. That will take you to Old Perkins in Prairieville. Take a right on Airline, then up 42 through Port Vincent.

this.....

How long does it take you when you go through Donaldsonville?

Someone who has never driven 77 is dead if they don’t know where the big turns are at that speed. That road is curvy as shite

Not if you take River Road. Yes, you will sit on LA1 at the old Verizon store near Wal Mart for a bit. But once you get over the intracoastal it is clear sailing, unless there is a wreck somewhere. I've tried 'em all over the past 4 years.

Old bridge to Harding (which turns into Hooper after Plank) to Sullivan to Wax, over Magnolia Bridge into Denham.

Well. Thanks to you the secret route is out.

Traffic getting off of sunshine bridge is atrocious around that time. Make sure you exit right off the bridge and take Hwy 44 to I-10 because hwy 70 is a cluster frig

Here is the trick, stay in the right lane as long as you can before the intracoastal. It moves faster because of people like me. As soon as you get a chance close to the bridge, find a gap and get in left lane. As soon as you clear the bridge you will have clear sailing.

About 4 months ago, I turned around in Brusly where traffic was backed up to gett across the bridge to BR and went back through Plaquemine and White Castle to get to the Sunshine bridge to get to BR and I don’t know if it was quicker, but I was moving the whole time.

I can maintain 85 in a lifted SUV. Don't be a woman. The curves don't even start in you get to 386.

Stop by Fast Track off the Sunshine Bridge

There’s a Sonic on the west side now. If the bridge is closed I’d rather swim to the Sonic than mess with that Fast Track.
