I’m gaining weight like crazy ...15 lbs in past year. Have not changed anything...eat like a bird. Any suggestions on how to lose this weight? I’m guessing increased activity. I hate being fat!

Just start walking every day and stay away from sugar, especially at night. My dad is your exact age and this has helped him tremendously.

Might help if you expanded a bit. What is your daily diet? What's your physical activity like? Any recent health concerns? Underlying conditions?

be in a caloric deficit. there is no secret workout, supplement, diet, etc. that will make you suddenly lose all your weight. You need to be in a caloric deficit through not eating as many calories, increasing your daily activity and calories burned, or a combination of the two. that's it.

Taking any testosterone supplements? That could help boost metabolism.

You're just going to have to stop aging.

So, what is your current height and weight and what is your target. I am 6’1.5”, 68 and lost 30 pounds from 235 to 205 over 18 months and now hover near 208-210 now.
More protein, less calories, keep moving, start light weight training and exercise. Do eeeeeet!

Aside from the caloric deficit post that is dead on, start lifting weights with a good program...crazy fun and good for someone your age, I’m 56 btw.

Start lifting weights!!!! You need to build some muscle. Get a sled and learn to walk backwards dragging it, best thing you can do for aging outside of lifting.

For diet...priotize protein and then veggies to fill uo. Cut your direct carb consumption down to 1 meal a day.

I’m 66, started lifting a high rep , full body workout in mid-January. I have beefed up pretty good and gotten a lot stronger. All I can tell you is, I eat like a horse everyday and don’t gain any bad weight. Doing this or something similar will help you.
Workout three days a week using the following exercise on weight machines in this order:
-overhead press
-wide grip upright row
-Bench press
-seated rows
-curls and wrist curls
-5 minutes on stairclimber
-leg press
**do each exercise about 60-75 total reps, broken down into sets like this : approximately 30 reps on first set, maybe 20 reps on second set & maybe 20 on third set. Each set is to exhaustion so if you are spent at about 65 or 75 total reps, that’s all that you are trying to do is to burn out on each exercise . Now, rest a minute and move to the next exercise on the list. Note, each set is done to the burn out or if not, then you are kidding yourself. No worries with this about hurting joints either. You will also get all the cardio that you can stand with this.
Hope this helps ??????

Put whatever you are eating into a calorie counter. It’s likely much more than you think
