My father was in line at the grocery store a few years ago and a block woman with 6 kids in line had a full shopping cart. She put a bag of dog food on counter and once finished scanning pulled a food stamp card out. Checkout lady told her, maam, food stamps don’t pay for dog food. She told her kid bring it back and get a big pack of ground meat. We gonna feed the dog that tonight. Truely sick that these people have no shame. Then to make matters worse, drove off in a new SUV.

i actually know a decent amount of people who intentionally shop daily for just that night’s meal.
of course they’re basically food snobs and swear it makes the food better to use ingredients purchased fresh that day.

Mandatory birth control for folks on welfare would be a good start to end this shite. As I have always said, "If you can't afford to take care of yourself, you certainly can't take care of a child". A neighbor is a fat single mom who lives in a run-down house, has no job, has no car, and mainly sits in a robe on her porch all day smoking cigarettes.
I'm not exaggerating when I say at least once a day, but up to 3x a day, she and/or her kids walk to the corner store for Big Gulps and a bag of junk food.
I get to see this everyday while WFH. It's pretty frustrating. I feel bad for the kids but not for that freeloading POS.
ETA: First junk food run of the day happening now.

When I worked at grocery store at 16. I never understood about food stamps until those trashy people would come in at the first of the month and load up 2 carts and I would have to bring them out and get no tip. Drove me crazy.
