In a relatively quiet trade market thus far, the #Saints appear to be the team doing the most groundwork for a potential trade up. They’ve even called into the Top 10 to gauge value. For a CB? Would be a steep price, but they aren’t afraid to be bold...

I think teams/executives feed Ian bad news. He misses more than he gets it right.

Horn, Parsons, or Fields

Those would be the only reason to trade into the top 10

So, more along the lines of they called to see what it would take to jump from 28 to top 10. Team gave them the "price" and we won't hear anymore about it because it would have been too steep.

If it was Adam Schefter reporting it, I would take it more seriously.

Rapaport is 50/50 and wants clicks on his stories

No way they trade into the top 10 for a CB. They’re doing leg work for a QB if one falls. My bet is Fields

So in a year when we are desperate for cheap depth and have holes everywhere throughout the roster, we gonna trade high up for one player?

We should be moving down to the 2nd if the top 4 corners are off the board and pick up extra picks this year.

Sean Payton's philosophy regarding trade-ups, as stated in the presser after selecting Davenport, is that there are only 4 premium positions worthy of aggressive trade-ups: QB, Edge rusher, CB & OT.

He reasons the initial high price is not as high in the long-run, because if you are in the Super Bowl the next year, the 1st rd pick you lose/traded away is just a glorified 2nd rounder.

He further equates it to the US government spending billions on a program and while everybody initially freaks out about that, it's just a drop in the bucket because the country still manages to function with a national debt in the trillions.

With that mindset, I'll bet Sean has often maxed out his credit cards.
