I'm 45 and can do a ton.
Sometimes, I just do a pull up work out.
I weigh 190, BTW.
In one of my normal weekly workouts, I super set 10 pull ups followed by 10 dips. Five sets. That's my warmup.

25 or so dead-hangs. Must stop at the bottom until counted, arms fully extended, then back up to chin over the bar. Counter’s arm extended in front of your legs to ensure you don’t try to cheat.
Today, maybe 10 or 12. I don’t do 200 per day, like back in the day, but I do have a pull up bar in the back yard. In my day, we had to do 10 pull-ups every time you walked past a bar. There were bars literally everywhere around the barracks.
In the pre-dead hang days, you could go until the skin started falling off your hands...assuming you knew how to use your momentum.

I'm guessing by prime you mean your 20's or around there. The most I remember ever doing back then is 10. I'm doing 20 two to three times a day now but that's because I put up a bar in my house and have been doing them consistently for about 6 months now. I'm amazed at how quickly you can improve. I could only do 4 when I started.

I could probably do 30 in 30 days

I won the field day pull up contest when I was in 4th or 5th grade. I don't remember how many I did. I wasn't all that strong really, just didn't weigh much.
Today? I might be able to do 1.

Will take the bet. Probably will hit 20. Other than my beer belly, probably in the best shape of my life for the rest of my body.
A beer belly guy doing 20 pull ups? I’ll take that bet for 500. Make it 1k. How about we meet at a park somewhere and see the 20 pull ups.

I’m getting older so I pee about 10 times a day. It hasn’t gotten any tougher to lift it up, but it has gotten more constant.
