Say he falls to the late teens. Would you trade this years first and next years 2nd and 4th to go get him?

That doesn’t seem like a trade someone would do with us. Most definitely would have to give up more.

He will definitely fall because of this. I wouldn’t be afraid to draft him, but I’m not giving up picks to do it. And it has nothing to do with epilepsy. I just don’t want to give up the picks. If he’s available when the Saints draft... something to think about.

Out of all the top 7 QBs, I am the most confident that Fields ends up being a major bust.

Why? He’s a pretty damn smart dude with insane natural physical talents.

After seeing Lawrence in his last two games against a talented defense, I would be more worried about drafting him than Fields

Treatable and not career threatening. He’s just got to stay on top of his meds.

I think that lawrence and fields won't do shite. I'd take Wilson or Jones over both

True. Just as important as staying on top of his meds, he will also need to stay on top of requesting an exemption from the league because a lot of the epilepsy meds are on the PED list.

Why is that exactly? I’ve honestly got very few concerns about Fields (biggest being epilepsy is serious and gets worse). I think he is going to be very solid and if he goes somewhere with a good supporting cast, I think he’s going to kill it. So many people are acting like Fields is a borderline retarded, no talent hack and that’s not the case at all.

If Fields is available at 28, you run to the Podium and select the hell out of him and if he drops outside of 15, I think it’s worth having a legitimate discussion to trade up for him. Personally, I would not want to be trading 3-4 picks for him, because our roster is not as deep as it has been in previous years, but if it happened, I would not hate it or melt about it.

There’s a lot of rumors that his work ethic isn’t the best so it would have to be a sweetheart deal for me to take him and even then I’m not sure I would. No question he’s the most talented QB other than Lawrence in the draft but talent alone doesn’t mean shite in the NFL if you don’t put the time into being the best player you can be. Just look how far talent got JaMarcus Russell.

I think the work ethic thing is a bit overstated. It’s already been debunked to a degree by other sources, plus Fields is the only reason why the Big 10 played last year. He led the entire movement and forced that pussy arse conference to actually not sit out the year. Fields led the whole thing. If that doesn’t tell you how much the guy at the very least loves playing football in a season that damn near everyone was trying to opt out of, then nothing will.

So I did a little research on this. Apparently as long as you take the proper medicine and take care of yourself this shouldn’t impact football at all

I don't think he falls much. However, if he falls far enough that we could trade up without giving up next year's 1st, I would jump all over it.

the QBs that come from that tOSU system dont seem to pan out in the NFL. Troy Smith, Pryor, Jones, Miller, Barrett, Haskins... Makes him a riskier pick in my view. shite, the best NFL QB to ever come out of Meyers system is Alex Smith.

The epilepsy is clearly a non-issue or else doctors would not let him play.

I have a child with epilepsy. He takes meds and has zero issues. Many kids outgrow it by 12 or so, so I'm not as well versed on adult epilepsy, which I know can be quite severe, but the fact that he is allowed to drive, swim, and play football should tell you all you need to know.

All those guys listed are either talented, but absolutely retarded or guys with no talent.

Fields has elite talent and the kid is very smart. I challenge you to do some actual background on the player instead of lumping him in with other Ohio State/Urban QB’s.

What? Why would any anti epileptics be on the PED list?

Admittedly I just glanced once and this isn’t exactly an official list, but I don’t see a single seizure med on here

Are you asking for logic from the NFL?

I don't know why they would be on there, but Pitt had a lineman that said he needed an exemption (or approval) because his meds for epilepsy was on the list.
