The de-construction of the Soviet Union is probably the best historical event to examine because it was the most recent.
The conflict we’re experiencing is driven by technology, urbanization, and the economic priorities of the ruling class, which do not include middle or lower class Americans. In many ways they’re using their power to purposefully hurt poorer Americans.
But there’s also a cultural component, that’s rooted in a Marxist world view. For that reason, I think the Bolshevik Revolution, the Spanish Civil War, and the conflict between Communists and the Nazis in prewar Germany are useful.
I don’t know if the breakup of the Soviet Union is useful. That happened when the Union became so weak it could no longer suppress Russian nationalism - Yelstin grew up in Kazan, in Tatarstan, but he was an ethnic Russian.

Central and West Oregon becomes a part of Idaho. They are already petitioning

quote:I agree with you, but why would the federal government let any state separate?
If it happens, I think it would be because of a local conflict.
Imagine a Ruby Ridge scenario, where the FBI deployed to a small town in Idaho or Montana to arrest a mayor, or otherwise enforce some new Federal mandate. And where the town banded together, peacefully, to stop them
That’s the kind of confrontation that could explode, and you could see communities choosing sides, and choosing to protect their neighbors.
The answer is that there is no good reason to let any state separate. Conflict would arise, certainly. I'm going to guess that Montana, in this case, would be reined back in with extreme prejudice.

Can we just give Minnesota to Canada? We will take the Yukon, east of Alaska in exchange.

I'm going to say California and hope it ends there

That would trigger a big response from the locals and it could create the scenario that the Federals were trying to prevent.

Of course, we both know how that will end (if it comes to armed conflict).
In any event, this secession talk is foolish. No state will do it.

Now I'm more interested in the herbicide case. Your link had the following...

June 6, 2020 - Nebraska Department of Agriculture Director Wellman said on June 6, “It is anticipated that the USEPA will seek some type of further review, and possibly under emergency circumstances. Therefore, until such legal process is concluded, the Nebraska Department of Agriculture will continue to allow utilization of three dicamba products. The Nebraska Department of Agriculture has not issued a stop sale order and will enforce the sales and applications of these products as they are currently registered in Nebraska." Therefore, the use of XtendiMax®, FeXapan® and Engenia® in Nebraska is allowed until further notice.

In the waning days of the Obama Presidency ...a rumor rose in favor of the use of Martial law to keep Obama in office.
A CIA White Paper was produced.
It predicted that up to 70% of all local and federal police forces would be joined by an equal percentage of National Guard that would simply go AWOL. The trouble with that? They would carry their weapons with them. The prediction being that none of those forces would fire upon US Citizens. Instead they would join the rebel cause.
You would think that no state is prepared to vacate?....Take a long hard look at Arizona, New Mexico and Texas. Right now all three states are being over whelmed with border crossers while nothing is being done to turn back the tide .......If a state or group of states decides to leave ...to hell with firing on Fort Sumter again ...burn the damn capital to the grund.

Not as purple as you think. The state houses are still red and the people, even a lot of the democrat ones, are Texans first. If it goes to a vote I think it will pass easily. Now, what will Washington do? Who knows.
bro, im in houston, its purple, and a DEEP purple... we have more New York and California license plates than the eye can see.. you have 5 major cities that are as blue as the ocean... Houston, Dallas, Ft. Worth, Austin and San Antonio are SOLID blue and only getting more blue because stupidity breeds stupidity.... not to mention the blue wave coming from the border... The democrats are putting everything they have into turning texas blue FOR A REASON... they get texas and its over... and my house will be put on the damn market.. you have too many people moving here and bringing their politics with them.... Austin is a shithole and many tech companies are moving there and to dallas and bringing their people from Cali with them... when i went hiking in Austin last summer, all of hill country had Biden signs... its probably my biggest concern, texas turning blue.. we've even had "family" discussions about selling everything and buying land in Wyoming.

Probably an injunction stopped it because non GMO soybeans were being damaged by spraying dicamba on nearby fields. Lawsuits followed. Ag departments fielded complaints and it goes to court to avoid settling it with guns.

If there was a war, the federal government would lose.
The 20th century leveled the field between profesional armies, and citizen militias. Weapons have become very easy to use, they require much less training, and they’re simply more powerful.
Thats one of the reasons Afganistan is so ungovernable. And more so than it was even fifty years ago.

Yeah but according to the constitution it's legal, that being said the constitution isn't something the current regime wants to follow

Half the country would be supporting any invaders. We are too far gone for anything to bring us together.

I live in Nebraska also and like you said everyone is pissed! I would be absolutely thrilled if Nebraska was the first state to leave
I don’t know who would be first, but I do know the last state that should go without having some states with it is Nebraska.
If it ended up being like Will Ferrell streaking alone, Nebraska would be a pretty shitty independent republic.
