Any of the burgers at Mason's Grill and wash it down with a custom built Bloody Mary.

I’ve only been to Zeeland Street once, many years ago, and the “gumbo” they served me was yellow and had carrot tidbits, with some sausage slices sprinkled on top. Maybe it’s time I give them another shot.

Hard to beat that brisket salad at Pimanyolis though if that's what you are going for. I'm a huge Hannah Q fanboy too but it doesn't compare.

Coffee Bean on Coursey is great for breakfast and lunch. Service is lacking though as the owner and his wife are doing it all without any help, and they need help. Not sure if they can't find anyone to work or whether they just choose to do it that way.

I tried the porchetta sandwich at Canatella's Grocery yesterday on a whim and it instantly became one of my top three favorite sandwiches in BR. Delicious pork with fresh basil and spinach, mozz, some type of aioli, on a very good ciabatta roll. I will definitely order it again.

I haven't been in years, but this place had the best fried rice I had ever had when I randomly stopped in once.

I/m not sure what happened but yes they (9 Dragon Noodle House) have been closed for a couple of months. It really sucks. Them and Omi were by far the best Chinese in the city.

Louisiana lagniappe is great. And the fish en papillotte is so damn good.

Also, I love Gino’s. Been great my whole life.

Jasmine’s on the bayou is loved on here. Been twice and I live in the area. Been pretty disappointed both times.

I know who you're talking about. He was a dapper gent, well educated and very friendly. I don't go as much as I used to. Sad to hear he has passed.
