Great stuff. Looking forward to the other seven.
Dude is lucky he’s not paralyzed after that pile driver from Owen Hart. Why didn’t Hart just do a tombstone style in between his legs so Steve’s head wasn’t lower than his knees? Weird that he insisted to do it that way when they discussed it beforehand.

I have it recorded. Gonna watch tonight!

It was great.
Kinda crazy how short his in ring career was.
Not even 20 years.
His physique really changed over the years. I was shocked at that.

Lots of the younger generation of wrestlers haven’t lasted that kind of time due to the damage done to their bodies over the years.
There was a huge rash of people getting neck fusions in the early 2000s, along with some getting an alternative neck surgery like Angle did that was not nearly as good but got you back quicker. Nearly all of that was due to the change in style to more high risk stuff as a lot of the wrestlers in question participated in ladder matches with a lot of dangerous spots.
Main top guy I can think of who has been around forever and not had a serious injury I can remember is Chris Jericho and part of that is that he has been a part timer for years due to interests outside the business.

Very good show. I can only imagine the physical toll this entertainment/sport takes on these guy's bodies. Look at the shite Mick Foley has done and the Hardy Boys.

I watched it and love Stone Cold
What was all this scripted and writer stuff they were talking about ? Surely these matches are not pre determined ?
And when he whooped the shite out of Vince in the hospital

talk about hitting the lottery... that was Steve Austin
the WCW firing leading to the classic ECW promo
the ECW promo catching the eyes & ears of Jim Ross who recruited Austin to WWF
Austin refusing all the shitty names creative gave him following the failure of the "Ringmaster" gimmick... and his wife at the time coming up with the name "Stone Cold" while handing him a cup of tea
the "curtain call" incident... which led to HHH being punished... making WWF come up with a new winner for the King of the Ring Tournament... where they turned to Austin
The injury suffered in the semifinal match where he had to go to the hospital for stitches in his lip before the KotR Final... and Michael PS Hayes (Doc Hendrix) giving him the rundown of Jake Roberts' promo as he got back to the building from the hospital before the Finals against Roberts... the busted lip just added to the Stone Cold aesthetic on that night
Hitting back-to-back grand slams with that 1 promo after beating Roberts and winning the KotR... "Austin 3:16 says I just whipped your arse" and "And that's the bottom line because Stone Cold says so"

Did this play on a tv channel or is it on a streaming service?

They made 8 of these. Next one is this coming Sunday. Plus the WWE Treasures series that comes right after.

Brought back a lot of great memories as a kid at that time. It was the best era of wrestling and when we got to school we always try to do the wrestling moves on each other. The teachers did not like that at all lol.

I had a question was Jim herd still in charge of wow when Austin debuted for the promo with missy Hyatt. Not telling him beforehand that stunning Steve is from Hollywood sounds like a jim herd thing to do. Also fang mcfreeze vs mason the mutilator would have been great.

It was awesome. At height of his career he was getting a divorce living in a double wide

If you haven't read or heard it already, Austin tells the whole story in his book. Owen had that Hart mentality of he could do no wrong and, I guess, legitimately thought he was right. JR said it best, though, why the hell were they doing a pile driver in a big pop moment anyway? One of the "unspoken rules" is that you do not use another guy's finisher, especially if that guy is one of the most over guys in the company at the time. The fact that Owen never once even called him is pretty shitty, despite the "I just feel so bad and don't know what to say" shite.
His audiobook is on YouTube if you search for it.

I was watching Memphis Saturday morning rasslin when he showed up there. I immediately recognized him as being on American Gladiators so much that I would've fought anyone who said I was wrong. I used to listen to his podcasts a lot and most of them were very entertaining.
