This is the result of not teaching history.
Augustas warned the men of Rome that they would be the downfall of the empire.
Marriage rates were declining, while abortion rates were climbing. Homosexual rates increasing ..... the result was Rome in ruins.
Europe had a particular problem in the Royal Families ...incest and inter family marriage produced some of the most notorious mental cases in humanity ....
Maybe that's why there is the true need for anyone from Latin America to simply walk right in.

We have laws that permit for advanced sentencing based on 'hate crimes' because society deems some crimes more reprehensible than others based on the subjective intent of the actor, despite that resulting harm is the same for a non-hate crime.
We also have animal cruelty statutes that criminalize behavior that does not result in harm to humans because we deem such behavior to be morally repugnant.
We also have laws that criminalize public nudity that would be violated regardless of whether children are present.
I am sure there are other examples of laws regulating morality and that there are libertarian arguments against them all, but morality is and has been definitely governed.
