As a percentage of your total “investable” assets, how much do you currently have in cash?

For the sake of argument, let’s go with traditional cash and not cryptos.

Trying to gauge how optimistic the MT is with respect to traditional investments at the moment.

Personally, the only material cash position I have within investment accounts is my wife’s 2020 Roth contribution that I’ve slow played like a fool. My contribution went in a month or so ago.

None.

But my wife keeps telling me to take some profits off the table.

I plan on leaving 10-20% on the side when I reallocate my roth portfolio. See how things play out this next quarter.

I guess they pushed the 2022 contribution opening back until May?

I have quite a bit and I'll probably dump it into bonds when it feels right.

Way less than 5%. But currently in "accumulate cash and hold for a sale" mode.

Too much but I am waiting to close on a few properties. One for rent and one to flip.

9% in my trading account. My IRAs are zero % except for the cash position any of the mutual funds or ETFs may hold.

Around 10%.

Wife is risk adverse and wants to keep a significant chunk of cash for an emergency fund.

I’m like 1/3 cash the rest in yolos

I think we’re in a drawdown market period that will eventually lead up to a big drop and I’ll get back in after the next drop and the next bull run

Probably 15 to 20%. Could be too much, but that's where I am. There are a lot of supposedly very smart guys out there sitting on a lot of cash. There is a ton of it still on the sidelines.

About 3%
Wife's IRA at 20%
Cannot talk her out of lowering that amount.

Too much. I’m auto investing from this point forward to make sure I avoid a cash build.

Why do you have cash in a IRA? Isn't the point of a IRA to invest? I get having cash after selling off some positions waiting to redeploy but 20% cash sitting there because she doesn't want to go lower? I don't get that. Isn't that what an emergency savings account is for?
