These days what really is a Yankee?

Sorry but I have to post this here and not in sRant ...
I see Nick Saban being disparaged as a "yankee" ... what exactly does that mean?
In the UK, a yankee is any American.
In the northeast, a yankee is someone from Connecticut.
In the south, a yankee is anyone not from the South.
Is this supposed to mean they're an inferior, liberal person? I know many people in the state of NY who are not liberals and vote conservatively while Georgia has become a blue state.
So, wth does Yankee mean?

We have thread after thread on this board about China and their threats to our way of life. Yankees have done more damage to our way of life than any other foreign entity. They're moving down here in droves and destroying the only culture that is distinct from the soulless and materialistic black hole that is American pop culture.

Anybody who lives north of the borderline of North Carolina, Tennessee, Arkansas and Oklahoma, and west and north of the Texas-New Mexico border is officially a Yankee.
