After 9:11 for a few days I was hoping that there was a small underground room somewhere, anywhere that they’d find a few survivors. Alas that didn’t happen.

So many are holding out all hope that they’re all together in the galley.

Not on the agenda right now... we are still told to worry about China virus, and mass shootings. Men working, and losing their life as a result isn’t news right now. Wait until it is an election year.

So the search has been abandoned by the USCG, but not the owners

I can’t believe they haven’t made it through their search on each level yet.

If they don’t find anything in the galley I would assume the divers get called off and the assumption would be that they left the vessel during the sinking? Other than the debris clogged engine rooms there wouldn’t be anything left to search. Possibly scattered and left the site before the coast guard could get there to pick them up last week?

And even those of us without family/friends down there wait with baited breath.

Anyone with any idea of how big the galley would be? Like big enough to have possibly not run out of air by now???

There was a diagram posted a couple of days ago - if I remember correctly, it was largest space.

The worry isn't about air. Its about did the galley get inundated with water, which if it did, would have caused hypothermia to set it, or did they have access to fresh drinking water.

They cleared the engine room first, correct? Then went to the other side and worked back? Is there a reason?

There would have been bottled water in the galley, but being turned upside crown, that place would be a mess. Even if they could get to the water, I don’t see how the galley wouldn’t be totally flooded.

They worked bottom up (top to bottom basically of boat) so that any air pockets wouldn't be disturbed ... at least that's my understanding. And could be wrong.

I believe the stairwell was inside of the lift boat, so the only chance that the galley doesnt have water, is if every level had a water tight door in the stairwell, and all of the hatches were secured.

It's the 2nd anniversary for the Daspit gentleman and his wife.

Another one of the gentlemen has his 27th birthday tomorrow.

PLEASE Lord, bring them home!

What happened was terrible. Talos had to put out a statement like this due to the incorrect rumors that were being circulated. The weather caught everyone by surprise. In an operation like this, the operator will provide a window for the boat contractor to arrive at the platform. It is 100% up to the boat contractor and the captain on when to leave the dock for transit to the platform. No Talos employees were on the boat but there was a contract representative for Talos that was on the boat and was rescued. You would be surprised how many people work on these vessels that do not know how to swim or are scared of the water. When emergencies happen, this fear really restricts the evacuation. It is terrible what happened and prayers sent to everyone that was effected.
