I apologize if I'm using the wrong terms. My understanding was that the captain had to get the legs to go down 60 feet, and he only got them 5 feet down (toward the seafloor). Jacking the legs down, not jacking the boat up. Again, that may not be the proper terms, was trying to understand what the CEO was saying.
Correct, he had not had near enough time to get the boat out of the water.

The numbers on the air space per person per day are sad and destructive of hope.
How does that fit the space the boys in Thailand had and the many, many days it took to organize their rescue? Smaller bodies, inactive, and Buddhist relaxation techniques to minimize oxygen in take. And the cave system - a natural drainage system may have had some air flow.
Not to minimize what is going on and being felt for the men and their families. My mind took the information and tried to take it to where I could forget about that liftboat for a little while.

I don’t think O2 was an issue for the kids in the cave. The cave went further back and was open on the other end allowing additional O2 in.

I spoke with one of the survivors of this horrible tragedy. I think it is one of those things that it all depended on where you were on the boat once it flipped. The survivors are very fortunate to be alive. Prayers to all the families.

I still can’t believe there isn’t anything on the national media about this. We are liable to lose more people here than on the DH.
Most people in this nation have no idea what all goes on to bring them their gasoline or shampoo bottles.

God bless him and his family going forward. I hope that he's physically ok and will be mentally.

If there was no oil spill the media wouldn’t have reported DH. It was a convenient anti-oil circle jerk.
Media doesn’t care about people. They care about chaos. It drives ratings.

What makes this story so attractive to a national audience?

They can’t use the crisis as an environmental catastrophe to further an agenda.

FYI level 2 is clear — they’re moving to level 1 and then the galley.
