Facebook update says Galley was cleared - moving to other rooms.

Oh man ... what are the chances that any other rooms have water tight doors?? And I'm assuming those would be much smaller rooms?
Also, are there windows that they can look through? I mean if they're in another room and no one responds when they bang on it, what do they do? Keep going and open the doors when it's salvaged??

The gear lockers are water tight compartments.

Would those be "big enough" you think to allow air to not become dangerous at this point? Yes, I'm holding on to every shred of hope for these people.

frick - I'm afraid if galley is cleared, those guys were alive and mobile.

If they have cleared all these rooms, where are the bodies at? Aren't there 8 bodies left to find?

Sadly, if there were air pockets they can get to they've almost certainly been used up. It's a finite amount of air without any ventilation.

Makes you wonder if they exited the boat and with the rough seas got dispersed away from the vessel before the coast guard and rescue efforts could get close enough to pluck any survivors from the water. That assumes they don’t find them in one of the last few small areas to peek into but sadly it’s looking like they probably were doomed that day when the vessel inverted.

Have they searched where the crew sleeps yet? Might have been a few laying in bed relaxing on the ride out.

I'm wondering if they're finding any air pockets?
Also, I know it's dark BUT I assume that they have lights down there for the divers?
AND if they're not in the next rooms, where the hell are they?? How do you even check the next rooms??? Are there water tight portholes??

A relative posted when level 1 was cleared, that their guy would have been sleeping there at the time, so he made it to the galley.

We have a friend whose dad was never recovered ... helo accident in early 80s; worked for Union oil.

Yes IDK if it was level 1 or 2 or both BUT galley was the last place to check other than the starboard engine room and the mechanical room from what I'm reading on FB.

I also read a comment that the 2 guys thrown life jackets and radios that went back in, were 2 of the Acadiana area guys still missing, and not the 2 they recovered after that.

Yes.
I still would like to understand how it was too dangerous to rescue them (I totally get the really bad seas) BUT how do you precisely drop radios and life jackets to them without them having to swim to get them??

I just read that it was a helicopter that dropped the life jackets and radios. Maybe they weren’t equipped or were unable to try and lift them out. Has the crew member that fell off the hull at that time been identified? I know he wasn’t found, but haven’t seen if they have released who that was, or just that he fell into the water and wasn’t seen again.
