The road diet is supposed to keep you off government street, you plebe.

Well frick you, CPEX. I've been using gov't street my entire life and now you've fricked it up.

I said this would happen. also, what's up with the planters they failed to install near 22nd? Also, what is so hard about putting down street markings. finish the got damn project. yeah I'm mad.

and while I'm mad, why the hell can't we finish Acadian already? And the repairs on corporate aren't any better than the pot holes.

don't bring that up on Nextdoor. You will be swarmed by Karen's, SJW millenials and knowitalls telling you how brilliant it is and how stupid you are for questioning it.

Man. This has affected me more than any of the other projects lately and I don't even live anywhere near there. Took 20+ minutes to get down College last weekend, on a Saturday morning.

I have no dog in the fight but the road plan isn't a bad one for what they are trying to turn government street into

Government was a clusterfrick about 10 years ago when I lived in the area to the point where my neighborhood turned a major street one-way to keep from being inundated with all the Government overflow.

The answer to fixing Government would have been to figure out why there were bottlenecks and decide how to fix them, not to add a ton of new fricking ones and say "Better use North Blvd." Bitch, North Blvd should have cut through what is now BRCC if that was going to be the plan.

I don't really care either way, but I remember being aggravated that Govt didn't have a middle turn lane, so the entire left lane would have to stop when someone needed to turn into a business. That light by Popeyes going towards Jefferson would have 5+ cars waiting to turn left and everyone stuck behind them. You had to basically only drive in the right lane if you wanted to get anywhere.

One thing I will say with the new setup (and a common problem all over BR) is that idiots don't seem to understand that you are to move your entire vehicle into the middle turn lane when you want to turn left. This leaving half your vehicle in the driving lane, or not leaving the lane at all, is infuriating.

government street was just fine in the past. two lanes in each direction, you could weave in and out around turning vehicles and get from west to east and vice versa easily. Now, the neighborhoods south of gov't have increased traffic as cut throughs, North ends at foster and moving north or south on foster between Gov't and florida is a clusterfrick.

Fair. However, I think they're referring to people who default to Government when they want to go downtown or something like that. Of course if you're going somewhere on Government, you would take it.

If you're coming from my side of town and not taking the interstate for whatever reason, you come out way ahead taking either Acadian, or Perkins over the overpass, and passing up Govt to take North Blvd all the way to downtown. A LOT of people don't pass up Govt in that situation. They take a left and then complain about the traffic.

^ I think a lot of these folks are people who somehow still don't know how to get around their own city, and Government is the only street they know to take them to downtown. Growing up in Central, a lot of my peers only know that one street.

Amen to that, one of my biggest peeves. A lot of people won't even use the turn lane, they'll stay in the driving lane and straight up turn left from there at the last second. We need to have more stringent driving tests, not all of these retards on the road should be allowed to drive
