Liked first episode
Like a big f u to travel hockey or any travel sports
Disney + releasing an episode a week as well for this one
No binge watching allowed
I kind of like it that way

No binge watching, really? Just wait until they all are released and then binge watch. Some of y'all are really dumb.

I don't really care either way but I can see the upside in releasing an episode a week. For us, it gives an opportunity for more in depth discussion of each episode, which adds to the enjoyment of the show. This can't easily happen if all episodes are available at once.

Shows like Stranger Things and The Witcher are very popular but they would be much more popular and hang around in pop culture discussions longer if they went to weekly releases.

I agree. I once suggested doing a "book club" to my friends for the most recent Stranger Things. They didn't go for it. It sucks when you ask someone if they watched the new season of a show. Then, they say, "Yeah, but I'm on episode 2." Alright, I guess I'll talk to you in a few weeks.

Netflix is exploring moving away from the Binge model with some of their reality shows. The definitely should explore the weekly release model for their bigger shows.
I am the target audience for this nostalgia reboot. I have zero desire to watch this series

Great to hear. I was looking for good sports movies for my kids to watch and they really stopped making them. There were some great ones in the 90s like Sandlot, Mighty Ducks, Little Giants, Rookie of the Year. Before that Bad News Bears and Karate Kid. They just disappear in the 2000s.

Wait, this is a fricking show? No idea why, but I thought it was a movie. I was hoping to carve out an hour and a half to watch this movie. Not sure I want to commit to a full season+ of a damn tv show.

Not everybody has the time or desire to binge watch
No patience in today's society has translated to media consumption

Agree 100%. It think it would also help several other Netflix shows build an audience turning them into bigger shows. There are so many Netflix shows I had no idea existed that I have liked but found out were canceled b/c they didn't hit their mythical viewer numbers in the first few days of being available. Even the ones that got a 2 or 3 seasons probably would have done better simply b/c they'd have a chance to gain viewers via word of mouth. The full season binge dumps do not lend themselves to growing an audience at all.

There’s a lot of kids movies and shows I watched that I think I’d still enjoy today. Good thing I have my first one otw. Part of what I’m looking forward to is the excuse to watch a bunch of my favorite movies from a decade or two ago I haven’t seen since. If nothing else for the nostalgia.

Is every Disney Plus show thread going to descend into bitching about binge watching vs weekly releases?
ETA: Lauren Graham has always been really really awkward to me on camera in her performances and delivery. She could single handedly ruin this show. Would love it if the Ducks coach got fired and the new coach of the Ducks, assuming Bombay coaches the new team, is Charlie Conway who has a grudge with Bombay
Throw some cheese on this show like Cobra Kai

And once they do this is when I finally drop them. I despise the weekly release format, and for the fgts out there with the “WaIt UnTIL TheYVe All BeEN ReLEaSEd AnD BinGE” thought, the reverse is true...if you want to be a psychopath, and watch one episode per week, you can do that. Nobody is forcing you to watch the next episode immediately....but only the full drop gives the customer all options.
I understand why companies like the idea of doing weekly drops to limit the subscription “churn”, but I have no idea why customers prefer a weekly release other than the small minority of message board posters that enjoy having conversations about tv shows.

Lol I love when people own themselves in situations like this. Not only that, but brazenly so.

Ok, how is that wrong? Weekly releases obviously don’t let you binge all at once, you have to wait an extra two months or so. Whereas a complete drop of all episodes at once let’s you do whatever the hell you want.

Exactly. I see absolutely no problem with releasing them all at once. The majority of people who argue oppositely are those who enjoy online discussion and theory positing.
