Played yesterday afternoon. 66 degrees, sun shining through the partially clouded sky, trees and bushes coming into bloom. Beautiful day to be on the course. Love Spring golf.

The annoying part... started out E,E,E,E,-1.. 1 under through the first 5 and feeling it, couldn't make a bad shot.

Then I got a double and didn't play so well there on out.. finished with an 85. Lots of bogies and a few doubles.. 40 on the front, 45 on the back..

I never take golf that seriously and maybe I just lose focus...

Earlier this year I started birdie/birdie and backed that up with a 92.

Golf is hard.

I’ve also started 3 over after 4, and shot even on the front. Got to 16 tee at 4 over and shot 10 over on the back.

Good golf is elusive. My best golf is a small fraction of all my golf.

It’s a test of man vs self vs nature vs man

It’s 4 hours of enjoying nature, friends, cold drinks, and the adrenaline roller coaster. I can’t think of a better hobby.

and what's insane and great at the same time is that you felt like you were putting the exact same swing on the ball, game is hard as frick.

I enjoy and appreciate the fact that it’s a solo activity meaning you and you alone control the outcome. You’re not dependent on another individual or even a fish, bird, or four legged creature to have success. Or failure. Very fun for a novice. Albeit frustrating.

Man do I feel that. Couldn't miss a fairway on the front 9 last weekend, only to severely pull every single drive on the back 9. I hate to love golf.

I believe it goes back to some of ours ancestors. In the advanced civilizations long before the pyramids were built in the times that the gatekeeper archaeologists don’t want us to know about.

It’s just such a simple and obvious game that there is no way they didn’t play it. You don’t need leagues or teams or racetracks. Just a stick and a ball and a hole.

Think about the greatest shots you’ve ever hit in your life. Let me guess...You knew they were great shots the second the ball left the club face, didn’t you? And there was something unexplainable and amazing as you watch the ball in flight headed towards the destiny you created for it, wasn’t there?

I’m serious. The perfect golf shot is tied in to campfires and how if you sit around one with certain humans, they will all go into a trance staring into it.

Played yesterday at Irving Golf Club and shot +9 while my buddy was +2. Sad part about his score was that he was -1 through 17 and he flubbed a 116 yard PW to an elevated green on the par 3 18th. He still managed his best personal round, but he had a real chance to shoot 69 after not really missing any shots all day long.

That’s true. It’s strange though that my one hole in one was hit thin. And an eagle from a skulled wedge that jarred, or would’ve rolled 30 yards past the back of the green.

That eagle was on 10 and started my best 8 holes maybe ever. Then I completely butchered 18 from a sand trap.

Shot my personal low nine, 34, and followed it up with a "sweet" 42 on the Palm Course at Disney.

If your name is Jim, then I believe so. I doubt it though because Jim is a Longhorn fan.

this is my favorite.

I scorched the front at Beaver one time for a 32 and dropped a solid 49 on the back LMAO.

very easy to do at Beaver if you can't place your drives in the right places on the back!
