Kispert is more Korver than Klay. Agree that if we’re 12-15 he’s a potentially interesting piece but he’s not that top 8 or 9 pick stat watchers see. I don’t care that his stats were down in the tourney as much as his offensive demeanor and mediocre D.

somewhat yes, but i don't think he has the quick release or the ability to shoot off balanced like Korver or Klay does. I'm not saying he doens't have a quick release, i just don't see it as being elite like Korver and Klay and JJ and Steph have. Most of the 3's i've seen on highlights from Kispert he's got his feet and shoulders squared up almost all the time, and i do'nt say that as a negative at all, but more so that i'm not seeing him coming off a screen and jumping from an off balance position.
What Klay and Korver and JJ can do which makes them so great is that they can jump with their feet and shoulders not pointing towards the goal, and they can square up their shoulders in the air, even when off balance. That is a very special skill that allows shooters to get shots off very quickly around screens, not giving the defenders the time to challenge the shot.

when i was learning basketball Oscar Robertson was a role model. so we all tried to jump in the air and turn 90 degrees to face the basket from the side and then release.
it takes fitness and some practice.
if kispert always squares up im happy for him. .too many very athletic guys dont shoot well because every shot is different.
toward the basket instead of dribbling once and getting control. at a different angle. unaware of how the ball acts from one hand side or the other. kispert looks very clever around the basket.

Thanks for all your work, Kad !

Kuminga, Keon Johnson, Scottie Barnes, and Jalen Johnson are all guys i absolutely do not want to pick. Way too much risks with them, and i don't even know what the big reward with them even is
Scottie Barnes has really interesting playmaking and defense.
He would be cool as back-up PF to Zion.
But the Pels just have no spacing...Barnes willn't give you spacing (except if Vinson develops him well).
Honestly i would take him if he's available

Ricky O'Donnell of SBNation released a post-tourney mock yesterday and has us taking Jalen Johnson #10. LINK
Also Rookie Scale has a really cool consensus big board where they are pulling data from ESPN, The Athletic, Yahoo, The Ringer, Tankathon, etc. LINK
I added both of those links to the OP.
Jordan Schultz says that Davion Mitchell is a top 10 lock.
I'm not sure that I buy that.

Have spoken with multiple NBA executives and scouts 2nite, all of whom are in agreement that #Baylor’s Davion Mitchell has cemented himself as a top ten pick - pointing to Mitchell’s elite change of pace, first step and finishing ability. “He’s everywhere,” one said.
I'm not sure that I buy that.

Yea, he's not going in the top 5 for sure as that tier is locked. Now if you look at teams that are in the 6-10 range, it's hard to find a market for him.
6. Toronto - they have VanVleet and at 6, the prospects that would be there will be rated a lot higher than Mitchell.
7. OKC - SGA
8. Orlando - highly doubt they invested big money in Fultz and draft a PG. I'd be surprised if they take a 23 year old with their first rebuilding pick.
9. Cleveland - Garland and Sexton.
10. Sacramento - Haliburton and Fox.
So unless someone trades up for him, I don't think he's going top 10. 11-14 is probably realistic for him.

My guess is that OKC trades back to get additional picks or players and someone takes him at 7.

Hopefully us. We need a PG

Kings just ended their 9 game losing streak by beating the Mavericks. That's good for us.
We keep losing games in impressive fashion like we are, we could move up in the lottery.

The more I look the more I like Mitchell, Johnson, and Bouknight for us depending on what other moves are made in the offseason.
Mitchell at worst, I think at least will be a good defender. Quick feet and quick hands

Mitchell doesn’t look like he will be a world beater but one of those guys in your starting lineup that’s just a glue type of a guy. A mentally and physically tough player that can do a lot of different things.
He’s got a high basketball IQ and is a winner (coming off the national title) and I think we need players like that on our team. Smart, tough, hungry players that know how to win...even if they come through the draft.

Same here, Honest Man. He's a quitter.

Draftnet has a couple of intriguing slots for us. They have us taking Kai Jones in the first round, and Herb Jones in the second.
Both would be assets IMO ...Kai is a little like Jaxon, and Herb's defense would be an asset - think Najeh but with improved offensive production. He would also fit as a former teammate of Kira's with the Tide.
Thankathon had us taking a young G-Leauge PG. Daishon Nix...intriguing skill set and fit - especially if we can exit Bledsoe.
Would appreciate your opinions.

I cant see Kai...he is too much like Jaxon and doesnt fit an immediate need. Shooters and perimeter D has to be where we go.

ill buy you a beer if okc doesnt make their own pick at 7.
discuss after lottery.
but we dont know if okc picks 1 to 4 or 7,8 9,10.
those are the possibilities.

I just feel naturally Texas players takes longer to develop and are two year projects. No way that happens if this team is hell bent on making the playoffs next year.

Kai Jones skillset reminds me of a Jonathan Issac with more athleticism coming out of FSU. Unfortunately, he's going to take way too long to develop. Great ceiling but also high bust rate. Could be the next unicorn or the next Marquese Chriss.
