re: Fat people should pay a higher tax rate

Tennessee opened up the vaccine to 30+ BMI people, so entire state of Tennessee, so apparently being fat gets you vaccinated. We still haven’t opened it up to essential workers though. We don’t care about letting the critical infrastructure go to shite if the essential workers get the virus, but fat people need the vaccine. Only thing worse than fat people getting it, is the lazy arse teachers union lobbied enough to give it to frickin teachers before we even gave it to people with legit medical problems under 65.

So I should bear a higher tax burden to pay because I spend less and that money gets used to pay for schools and infrastructure for your children?
Schools are funded by property tax - no one gets credit for children on property taxes, nor sales tax - I pay property tax and my children don’t even use those schools - so I’m not seeing your point on that one
As for income tax - child credits are given as an incentive to produce future generations so there will always be a base for money for the government from taxes - working families put a lot of money into the economy - people who make a lot don’t get much out of the child tax credit anyway
So quit your bitchin

Just like I shouldn’t bear a higher insurance and tax burden for people who chose to be fat bastards, smoke, do meth, etc. I shouldn’t have to pay extra while others get reductions for the choices they make.
Dumb.

I know this the reason but it’s fricking stupid. Property taxes do not exclusively pay for schools. They all get federal funding and where do you think that comes from? I’ll bitch as much as I want. I have a kid in private school that I don’t get a tax credit for and I make it just fine. People need to worry about paying for their own shite rather than relying on the government to redistribute other peoples money to pay for things that they chose. Just like the fatties.

There are a ton of credits based on how much you spend on shite. Child tax credit is no more or less dumb than being able to deduct mortgage interest or charitable deductions.

I’m with you. Let’s get rid of those too.

I agree.
The child tax credits don’t help us either and I homeschool my kids.
You can bitch all you want but you cannot expect a fat person to pay more tax bc he/she is fat. The government is not going to get rid of child tax credits when it helps the ‘victims’ of our society.
The wrong people are having kids and the wrong people would also just stay fat.
I think it’s pretty crappy how much car insurance we have to pay in Louisiana bc of terrible drivers and theft. I’ve never been in an accident, have only had one speeding ticket, and I don’t drive a desirable vehicle. And I’ve never stolen a car.
However, in a few years all of us will pay reparations bc we are white, regardless if your ancestors had slaves.
Not one politician is going to step on toes to change any of it.

Bite me, not many of us who can conserve fat for later use. You skinny folks will die from malnourishment.

Does your logic hold?
What studies that have been made public show that fat people tend to be less costly in the long run. Bet your arse that the insurance companies already have ALL the data on this and if they could justify charging significantly more for being fat then they would ... they haven’t. This tells me they know paying a hundred a month for some fatty's blood pressure meds is a cheaper alternative.

Id rather a healthy person tax break.
ETA:
The comparisons to child credits are red herrings.
I could say that funding an educated population of neighbors benefits me even though I don't have kids.
Fat and unhealthy neighbors drag us all down in many, many different ways.

Surprised the OT isn't 100% in favor - as long as the metric is body fat percentage and not BMI.

Dumb. Genes and your parents have a impact on this. Some is self discipline, but not all. If you want to help the obesity situation go after the processed foods industry.
And for the record, alcohol also causes a lot of health problems in this country. Are you going to increase the income tax on that too?

Drive my 4x4 motor scooter into the ball park running over skinny Jean wearing people to get to my seat.
Seriously, I do buy the seats next to my group at ballgames and long airplane trips to have the extra room to spread out and have the arm rest room. Seat wise they are wide enough for me.

Hell let's piss test everyone, the ones that are positive on illegal drugs pay a higher tax. The fat meth heads will be practically homeless.
