I'm 27 lbs over my weight, but I'm a stocky athletic build. It was always funny running 1st class pfts in the Marine Corps, to then get taped because I was over my max. Still always taped out.

Could I lose weight? Absolutely, not as mean as I used to be

That calculator says I should weigh 180, I haven't weighed that since high school and I was skin and bones then. 225 is the ideal weight for my height and frame, 180 would look like a toothpick.

Judging by the upvote to downvote ratio, 65% of the OT is fat.

I’m pretty thin, and I never make fun of anyone’s weight. You never know what kind of health issues someone is struggling with.

The amount of overweight people on here constantly calling out others without looking in the mirror is pathetic.

There is this myth out there that doctors don't understand the limitations of the BMI charts, which is ridiculous.

Doctors understand this and take it into account when they examine you.

For example, I am 5'11" and in the 200-205 range. A year ago I was around 220. I have an athletic build, and my doctor said that I would likely always be in the "overweight" category with the additional muscle mass. However, he also clarified that, regardless, I could stand to lose about 10 pounds, which I did.

He is satisfied with my weight even though I am "overweight". He also considered my normal blood pressure and lipid levels.

They can tell if you're carrying more muscle mass than the general population.

Even when I was 7% body fat, those damned things said I was overweight. I'm 6' 215 of mostly muscle, 34' waist, and it puts me almost in the obese category. That thing is a sham.

That calculator says I should weigh under 200lbs. I haven't weighed under 200lbs since 6th grade. I was 250lbs in the best shape of my life. frick that calculator.

After reading all 16 pages, I've come to see that there's some seriously dumb fricks here when it comes to concept of obesity.

Some of you folks shouldn't be allowed to drive or use sharp implements without supervision, much less be responsible for raising children.

Good luck on the denial thing, the "skinny" folks of your birth year will be whistling past your interment ceremony.

For my height of 6'2", I need to weigh 144 lbs.

I weigh more than that. Because I'm not in any of the progressive new reeducation compounds yet.

Seriously that's nearly starving in my book. I'm thinking 165 would be a healthier weight for someone that height. 194 on the high end actually seems a little high, but I guess for some builds that's okay.

Height: 6 feet, 5 inches

Weight: 277 pounds

Your BMI is 32.8, indicating your weight is in the Obese category for adults of your height.

For your height, a normal weight range would be from 156 to 210 pounds.

The bad news is I’m obese. The good news is I’ve lost 10 lbs in the last 12 days.

Feel free to hurl your insults at me.
