3.25/hr cash money at the local butcher shop/grocery store. Make boudin and cracklins, stock shelves, beer cooler, etc. I got paid in cash and all the hot beer and cigarettes I could steal.

$1.60 per hour in the early 70's. Went up to $2.10 an hour sometimes around 1973 and I thought I was going to be rich!

$1.65 an hour at Warehouse Foods, West Memphis, AR in 1973.

Also worked at a nursery watering plants. $20 a week for about 10 hours of work.

Mowed yards too. $5-$10 per yard. 3-4 yards every couple of weeks.

Parents made me save for college too. Really didn't have much time to spend it.

Don’t remember, it was at Burger Chef in 1968.
Couldn’t have been very much.

I think it was around $2.50/he working as an assistant Dairy Clerck at the A&P.

But I had to join the Amalgamated Meat Cutters local and pay dues, which brought it down to around $2.25.

Worked evenings until closing. My boss, Mr. Connors, had just returned from having a Laryngectomy and couldn’t really talk, which pissed him off to no end (understandably) and therefore made my life a living hell...
