I grew up a NY Giants fan. Still root for them but 22 years in Louisiana means I have long converted to a Saints fan. Katrina sealed that deal. The Saints were unifying and cathartic for all of us during that time

Back when I still liked the NBA, I switched from the Jazz to the Celtics in 1979. I had listened to Jazz games on the radio and went to a game in the Superdome. The Jazz then moved from New Orleans, and at some point during that season, they released Pete Maravich, who then signed with Boston. The Celtics became my favorite team at that point. Didn't hurt that it was Larry Bird's rookie season, too.

I've come very close but always opt out of doing it.

I know a guy that's a fan of whatever team Lebron is playing for. I'm talking SEC football fanaticism to a team,........until Lebron goes elsewhere.

my nba affiliations have moved around the state of Texas.

I was never that much of a fan to begin with, but enjoyed the Spurs success at the time and the Mavs when they had their runs. Don't hate to see Houston doing well either.

Popavich has pretty much turned me off of the spurs entirely.

Kinda had to when the Yankees traded me to the A's. George got pissed when I started growing a beard.

Was a Rays fan when I was a kid, then went to San Diego for a summer trip in high school and saw a Padres-Dodgers series. Been a Padres fan since.

I was a decent high school player but never good enough for the pros.

I’ve switch one time and that is when Washington became woken and dropped the Redskins name. Before the start of this past NFL season, I had a hard time picking between the Bills and Bucs. I just ended up cheering for both.

MLB. Grew up as a Braves and Redsox fan. Also kinda adopted the Cubs growing up due to Cubs afternoon games on WGN. TYFYS Harry Carey.

NBA. Don’t care.

NHL. Capitals.

Not switched, but I’ve lived outside of Louisiana for almost as long as I lived there so I’ve taken an interest in some Florida teams as well. Jags being primary one.

I've never had a favorite NBA team. I was a fan of Shaq, so used to root for whatever team he was on. Haven't really rooted for any specific team since he retired.

As a kid I had my die hard teams. As I grew older and just don't have the time to keep up I started just looking for what I thought would be the best game.

MLB; when guys are having great years I try to catch them play a few times.

NBA: I don't even watch until playoffs start

Hockey: Stanley Cup finals

Tennis: Majors only (depends on who's playing)

Golf: It's usually on in the background on Sundays.

NFL: I want the Saints to win, but it doesn't get me as fired up as LSU.

I’ve stuck with the Falcons even after 28-3 so no one has an excuse.

Yea, I was a LA Kings fan. I lived out there when they got Gretskie and started watching hockey just based on his legendary status. Me and a classmate from LSU learned hockey together watching The Great One. I moved to Dallas about the the Stars moved here so started rooting for them and don't pay much attention to the Kings anymore.

This

Used to be a Titans “fan” then switched to the Falcons. Then sat there and thought am I really a fan of either of these teams?

The answer is no. Hard to get attached to a NFL team for me.

Or, have moved. My grandfather when I knew him was a die-hard Bears fan. He grew up in Akron, OH and Detroit, MI. But, by the time I knew him, he had lived in the Chicago area for 35 years. And, by the time he died 80% of his life he had been a resident of the Chicago area.

Not all that uncommon to live your entire childhood in one state, and your entire adulthood in another.

You can grow up a die hard Saints fan, but if you graduate college, move to Seattle - and stay there, without even trying you'll pick up on the atmosphere of all of the people in your neighborhood bar cheering on the Seahawks.

After about a decade your Seahawk memories will start to outnumber your Saint memories. You'll meet a girl at a tailgate or at a bar that's from a die-hard family. You have money now, where you didn't as a kid - so you can afford tickets now, and all of a sudden you know Seahawks stadium inside and out.
