I20 is a disaster from the Texas state line to Monroe. Hundreds of people stranded for 18 hrs or more on the interstate. Even today during the thaw many sections are closed and traffic backed up for miles and barely moving if at all. From what I hear I20 in TX and I49 in Arkansas are clear while LA roads remain a hot mess. My commute home, normally 20 mins, could take hours. I'm even wondering if I'll get home before having to turn around for work tomorrow morning. Great leadership JBE.

LA DOTD has been getting the funding shaft for years. There’s not much they can do when the state government consistently guts their budget. Texas and Arkansas do things the right way.

We knew this was coming a week in advance despite what people say. We should have rented plows from unaffected states.

Sometimes, shite happens. It's not always "we gotta blame somebody!!"

North LA is totally unprepared for what happened this week. Thankfully, this only happens every 30 years or so.

I guess LA could have hundreds of plows and millions of pounds of salt just sitting around for years, right? But tell me, who the hell is going to pay for that?

Why don't you guys look up who runs the LA DOTD. 1st non-engineer at this post was hired by your favorite governor as a political favor.

A snow plow bolts onto a truck which they already own and runs everyday. There should probably be a few in stock.. it doesn’t have an engine so it can be ready whenever you need it.

First, they’ve never had the fkn ball. Second, this purposeful misery will be used as leverage for a gas tax increase since the bloated and 60% useless state gov never has any money.

Don't make sense around here.

These folks can't make up their mind:

Screw the government

We need the government.

I don't want to pay for nothing.

Who do we blame for the record snow/ice/rain/tonrando/ hurricane?

Poo-nannies everywhere.

Now is not the time to be holding up as anything but a cautionary example.

eat shite. Perhaps the needed funds were funneled to LSP?

These fks make everyone dependent then shite the nest in the clutch. Sheriff dept :”don’t travel, we can’t help you.” Tax election time: “we need these taxes to keep you and your family safe.” On and on and on.

A snow plow is simply a blade that bolts onto the front of a 1-ton truck. Pretty simple shite. Instead, LADOTD does nothing.

They still haven't poked holes in the dam they creatd on I-12 from Denham Springs to Oneal.

This was not only blocking the flow of water but it was a safety issue for emergency personnel. It seems like that would be an easy fix, yet here we are 4.5 years later.
