He's talking about the Tuscan GP last year at Mugello.

Sounds like Bottas should have taken care of his tires better.

I understand everyone's point but the fact is that Bottas is a #2 driver. He acts like a #2 driver, he drives like a #2 driver and is then treated like a #2 driver.

He could change that I suppose. But he seems content in his position.

I just hate the double standard by the media. They get selectively outraged by some of this stuff and then praise Mercedes for doing the same thing.

Kimi treated like a #2 at Ferrari - media complains
Bottas treated like a #2 at Mercedes - media praise

Massa moves over for Alonso in Germany - media outrage
Bottas moves over for Lewis in Russia - media praise

Overall though I hate Bottas because he drives like a pussy. So I don't care what happens to that guy.

Look at media bias in the eyes of British vs everyone else.

British teams and drivers (and moves benefiting British drivers) get praised more and non-British drivers usually get critiqued harder.

Never really noticed until it was pointed out to me a couple years ago.

Bottas has every right to be pissed… his team never goes along with anything he wants. I remember vividly last year him asking to be out on opposite tires of what they were putting on Ham and they didn’t.

They treat him like dog shite and I’m glad he’s blasting them over radio for all to hear.

All that being true, he has no basis for complaining about strategy today in this race.

I recall this in the Damon Hill era. It was hill this and hill that and anything contrary to that was always someone else’s fault. Usually Schumacher.

That was one hell of a race today. I wonder what happened to Ferrari’s race pace.

Wow, that looks like it could add 10s a lap.

At first I thought they didn't touch the third sector, but I see they rounded off some of those 90 degree turns. All-in-all I like the changes. We'll see.

Perez beat him by going slower and being in clean air. That allowed him to save his tires to go extra long on the first stint. Thus the 1 stop strategy worked.

Being in traffic like Max and Bottas following cars, the 2 stop strategy was the better strategy.

Bottas also guess that tire degradation was much more that Merc expected.

Undercut being so strong surprised Merc.

That removal of the first chicane should be fun. Kind od remimds me of the COTA hairpin and back stretch.

For the upcoming Austrian double header, will there be any differences between the two GPs? Minor rule changes, different tire compounds, anything? Or will the 2nd be a carbon copy of the 1st?

Hopefully different weather like last year IIRC.

And I think that’s about it. The F1 site lists them both at 71 laps at 4.318km per lap.

No real difference in layout can be accomplished and F1 rules dictate 305km so they are kind of handcuffed.

Like S14 said, sprinklers it is.
