According to the article, the program under her stewardship had accreditation issues.

So the accreditation body is racist too. She should sue them as well.

Given past threads from other people who handled “diversity” measures, my guess is that she was incompetent at everything except documenting her supposed mistreatment by the school.

She may have been fired because of her complaints if they were baseless and were a smokescreen to attempt to block her firing on other grounds.

The GoFundMe link has some calling cards in describing her plight.

"We should not be shackled to silence."

"healthcare and education is a privilege"

"human rights and equality"

"perpetual annihilation of careers of Black professionals who speak up for justice "

She probably wasn't qualified to begin with

From the story

quote:

the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education “placed the program Dr. Dennar was directing on ‘warning status.’”

quote:

“This status change triggered an automatic review of the program by the Graduate Medical Education Committee, which is comprised of diverse Tulane faculty and medical residents from across the school and individuals from other institutions. It was the recommendation of this committee to remove Dr. Dennar as director.”

Your boss doesn’t need to have a reason to fire you

True but they need to be able to prove they didn't fire due to discrimination or they'll get sued.

So in essence they need a legit reason to fire you to cover their arse.

Im sure theres a LOT more to this story. Any Tulane insiders up in here?
Article says an outside accreditation group put the program she was in charge of on "warning status". That status change triggered a committee review. Committee decided to remove her. Unless the 3rd party accreditation group is also racist, it seems like she lost her job because the program she was running wasn't living up to the expectations of a school that charges $60k a year for tuition.

. Cajuns fired a football coach that was like 3-30 in his career and it took them 15 years to finally get his racial discrimination lawsuit thrown out.

Tulane has much better lawyers

Huh, so not related to her race or sex at all, but rather her poor job performance that was affecting the education of her pediatric residents.

And she helped get the investigation by the ACGME started:

And it says that investigations held by the ACGME, which Tulane says led to Dennar’s suspension, were triggered in part by complaints from Dennar and “seven Black female residents” over discriminatory conduct.

Why? Because she's black?

So no matter if she does poorly, it’s automatically racism and discrimination because she is a black woman?

So Tulane holds its leaders accountable for results. If that isn't racism I don't know what is.

What do you expect him to say? It was obviously because she is a woman.

Duh.

You are correct, La is a employees at will state unless there is a employment contract. The position this woman held probably came with a employment contract

Every job does.

Even the hourly guy at a restaurant. You usually sign a thing saying you understand the policies and rules, including it being an at will employment.

The problem here is you can't fire black people for actually sucking at their job without being ready to defend yourself.

The case won't go anywhere but that phone call with the lawyer cost money.
