Funny but not really a classic comedy

Well done action scenes but not really an action movie

Nails the beginning, nails the middle, fumbles the end a little

Killer soundtrack

It's such an offbeat movie and decidedly early 90s but still holds up well on rewatch.

Watch it every time it's on.

Aykroyd is great.

It was probably my favorite film from the 90s, but I'd say Hall of Very Good.

It mostly struck a chord with me because I went to high school in the 80s...and it was a really entertaining movie with an equally good soundtrack.

Mr. Newberry: What have you been doing with your life?
Marty: Uh... professional killer.
Mr. Newberry: Oh! Good for you, it's a... growth industry.

It's a classic because the whole is greater than the sum of the parts. Driver was off-the-charts good for her. Alan Arkin with a brilliant small role. Joan was better than John. Piven hit a homerun. Akroyd in a rare villain role. Tons of small performances (Azaria and K. Todd Freeman were great together as the government spooks, Michael Cudlitz, Steve Pink, Barbara Harris). The soundtrack was fantastic. The pacing was right.

The movie didn't miss a single beat.

It came out in 97

That was the start of a great adult career for Cusack after struggling for nearly a decade after outgrowing the teen movies he did in the 80s ending with Say Anything in 89.

After GPB he did Con Air, High Fidelity, Pushing Tin, Being John Malkovich, in the next few years. Of course he followed those up with a lot of other more mediocre fare as well, the dude just wants to work constantly it seems and doesn’t seem to care about good scripts unfortunately. But he did have some good ones in there.

With his star power and Piven’s rise with Entourage it really is annoying that they never pushed hard enough to make the sequel to GPB happen that they still talk about to this day.

Would have loved to revisit the Pointe for their 25 year reunion

Classic movie.

Great movie that must be underrated. This board goes on, and on, about so many others on a regular basis.

By far the greatest high school reunion movie of all time, and except for the main character's occupation, the most realistic.

My favorite Cusak movie, by far.

I absolutely love this movie. Pimento was such a great side-kick style role. So many great lines...

“See you at the ‘who are we kidding we’ve peaked’ party”

“Just searching for some validation and apparently I CAME UP SHORT!”

great dialogue and a star performance by john cusak. Plus the movie looks like it must have been a blast to shoot, everyone goes for it in their roles.

and yes, the best high school reunion movie ever made
