The most conservative faculty proportions are all in STEM fields...

Are you surprised by this?
They are the producers, not the leeches.

To starve the leeches, producers have to quit producing. Walk out en masse. It would obviously be financially and societally painful and destructive, but that’s how a revolution would have to start in order to reclaim this country.

I’m surprised that many Conservative Engineers were so bad at their work they had to resort to teaching.

And they will say with a straight face that it’s due to their politics being so intellectually superior.

Most of us just like being left alone to run our own research programs

See this kind of mindset and talk is what got us into this mess. For 30-40 years conservatives have said "academics is where the libtard failures who couldnt hack it in the real world end up". Even in the hard sciences. Look even chemistry and biology are overwhelmingly "liberal"

By doing so conservatives allowed this generation to grow up being indoctrinated in extremely formative years with leftist though 60-90 minutes at a time uninterrupted at every university.

They then grow a legion of "activists" and preach "public service" so that their lemmings infiltrate Washington in things like the state department because they have the name of a high profile university on their resume.

Just for the record “liberal arts” and a classical liberal education in their intended form are great things, and have little to do with liberalism. It is the overwhelming presence of leftest/communist professors that has destroyed what once was a valuable curriculum. When I went to undergrad in the early 70s there were still many conservatives teaching liberal arts classes.

In a mere 100 years, all of US Academia transformed from being conservative capitalists to hard core Leftists.

When the Left decides to take over an institution, they never stop trying, even if it takes 100 years.
