How many innings did Mathis get at C? He was charged with 4 errors last year and no PBs. Milazzo was charged with 2 in 13 starts. Giving him the benefit of doubt that a PB or two was charged as a WP, two in thirteen games is two too many for an above average defensive catcher.

You missed my poor attempt at sarcasm! Garza and Mathis were admittedly below average defensively in 2019. Mathis started 40 games and was charged with 11 PBs... horrible stat. My point is that 2 in 13 games is also a bad stat for what many are claiming is an elite defensive catcher. I’ve watched him play and agree that he has good skills, and a true freshman starting at catcher for LSU an extremely difficult position to play and excel in. This is a big year for him both offensively and defensively to see what we’ve got with him.

So zero mistakes is good.
Anything less is piss poor stats. Got it.
Couldnt have watched Garza and Mathis and then found disappointment in Milazzos D

Listened, honestly didnt get much substance. They regurgitated alot of the same stuff. Who the rotation will be, looking at freshmen pitchers early in the season like coleman and edwards to see if they are midweek guys or can pitch in SEC play.
Said marceaux and labas were out because “you can guess” basically covid. Safford been out with contact tracing, but probably a good thing because he had a sore arm. Will probably get a shot to be the 3rd baseman.

I believe your talking about Mathis in 19'. Went back and checked the stats for 19 and 20 and yes Garza had 3 pass balls in 19 and 2 in 20 however, the great Milazzo had 2 in 20 as well. Garza was not as bad as some of you on this forum make him out to be. In 19 once he started catching full time if I remember correctly he was hitting somewhere around .475 during that time going through the back end of the season into the SEC tournament and play-offs. I'll take that anyday.

Kind of sucks for Beloso. He got robbed of a full season as a starter at 1B last season.

but, he seems like a team player.

I think if he shows he's a capable OF, that will help him out in the long run.

I assume you mean the first one in season.

Because they were very prevalent when the football team was shitting the bed and O-tards wanted to deflect.

I think a stamina score of 60 for Hill is quite generous..but I hope you’re right.

He’s probably the best “athlete” Friday starter. I’m not worried about him.

Am I the only one that thinks Beloso could be a decent lead off guy? I know you don’t get that traditional speed on the base paths but he almost always has a good at bat and gets on base with the added power potential.
