I was busy as hell at work today when I got that text, and I’m glad I was. Sealbachs will make a man go broke with those damn text notifications.

No shite! When I saw the email I checked it out and considered it. Then I realized they are charging $60 for the two glasses and the box. I talked myself off that ledge. Your wife is going to serve you papers; I saved myself that from mine

Now that you’ve further dug into that starlight rum finish, what are your thoughts?

too much oak tannins on their older whiskeys

I get it. Personally I love that, but I know many don’t. It’s definitely a select audience for that profile. My boss is a massive bourbon fan and collector, but he hates the strong oak flavors.

I have calumet 15 and plan to get a backup soon. It’s one of my favorite pours. I’ve had others try it who do not like it.

Well if I knew they were floating around BR I would have punted. I assumed since they were here and gone in Nola that was it.

It’s opening up. Does not have as malty of a taste as the first pour. I was like hmm, this is nice.

The ones around BR were the high rye I think. I bought one but haven’t opened yet. The one from the seelbach gift set had the white butterfly so may be different? Not sure I’ll check when I get home.

If it makes you feel better, those glasses without any etching go for $18 and are often sold out. So, you're basically paying ~$20 for the wooden box

I considered it as well, but ultimately passed.

For Small Batch retail is around 40. Secondary is up to 140. The highest I've seen in a store for it is $100, which is crazy to me.

I am a big fan of it, but I know others here (ughem CURDS!) do not like it. It's different from your typical wheaters, which is why I like it I think. I dislike the majority of wheaters that I have tried. The ones I like though I like a lot

$50-$75 here depending on the store, and you won’t find it on the shelf. I did pick up an EHT SiB Monday evening for $75 and I consider that a fair price.

Guess I shouldn’t have passed it up then. Ugh. If I come across it I’ll have to bite the billet and buy it.

You saw it somewhere else or was this the bottle I texted about? That bottle may or may not have ended up in my cabinet
