Even if Texas were able to unilaterally secede (it can’t and won’t), no other red state is anywhere close to TX as far as being potentially self reliant. Texas cannot be self reliant without the federal government and the property/infrastructure,etc owned or built by the federal government (primarily because it would never be able to afford a buyout or the maintenance on said facilities), but its light years closer to being able to do so than any other red state.

More power to you. As I’ve said before, I respect your passion for this cause despite my strong feeling that it cannot happen for various reasons.
However, if I am ever proven wrong and Congress lets you guys go, I’ll be signing up to move.

Charge $25,000 per head for entry. We will have a budget surplus like never before.
Plus they have to trade places with someone who voted democrat in the last election.

It won't happen this year, Indefatigable; but it'll happen.
MANY of us won't give up until it does.

Arkansas and Louisiana join, to form the new nation of Texarkana. BOOM, we already have the perfect name and capitol city ready-made.
The actual city of Texarkana would become like Washington DC, just a territory belonging to the nation itself. A Capitol and Red, White, and Blue House (our version of the White House) would also have to be built there.
In short, let's make this shite HAPPEN.

If it's voted on in November, why doesn't it happen this year?

What if you are currently a resident of another State but own property in Texas?
I knew when I bought out those stupid cousins it would pay dividends one day...

Who gets to vote in our new Republic?
I would limit the franchise to those of us who are able to prove direct descent from at least one person who lived in Texas prior to 1845. The real stakeholders.
Carpetbaggers would be welcome to live here and pay taxes, but I don't see any reason to give them a say in running things.

Houston's economy would probably take a bit of a hit if they had to jump through a bunch of immigration hoops in order to get all the Louisiana college grads to come work there.

Based on my math, the TEXAS population will go to over 100,000,000 if passed....

The Republic of Texas - Home of the 12 1/2 Cents Bill

Is any of this an effort to prevent the state from turning irretrievably blue by way of mass amnesty bill? And if so do you see any bipartisan support?

Ever heard of the Mississippi River?

Related question(s) that I haven’t seen explored on this issue before: Is there a threshold of public support that the secession movement is targeting? Surely it’s not a 50% + 1 scenario, right?
I read recently that Nikola Sturgeon won’t let the SNP push another Scottish referendum until polling would show 60% support. Of course that is moreso to avoid a repeat of the embarrassment they got last time when the No votes won....but it has me wondering if the Texas secession movement is eyeing something more than a simple majority vote?
I’ve made my skepticism and ultimate opposition to Texit known but that’s not where this question comes from. Just wondering if you guys believe that there should be a broader mandate, etc. amongst the general public. As I see it now, this issue is very divided on a rural/urban dichotomy....and clearly nothing will ever happen without metro DFW, HTX, ATX, and SA on board to some extent

If I were to buy an acre of land in TX today, would that give me rights to move there in two years?
