Which is why I’m sick of seeing it under every TD front page article about any time a former LSU player does something in the NFL.

Captain didn't like him.

He was too evolved mentally for simpleton O.

It's all playing out for all to see currently.

Look around. LSU can't hire anybody. No backup plan. Panic scramble to find somebody.

Nobody wants to step into this big pile of rotten shrimp heads (Defense) because they know now what and who Capt. Eddie is all about. (He makes one courtesy call to Sean Payton and Nielsen is in place and starting to rebuild the Defense)

Powers, Alums, TAF's and Normal fans starting to get past the point of no return.......

As usual, all of the Luzianner O Sycophants, Program Cheerleaders and Lovers of Mediocrity are completely blind to what's going on........

Come on man get a grip! This was a discussion on the kids and their communication skills. All the man was trying to say was, take a cue from Aranda and sit with Adams to teach him the defense ans his assignments. It also pointed out that Adams has been in a system that likely was more controlling and Carroll wants him to use his instincts and be more free to decide.

I really don't agree the the "me and not we" is the actual problem with defensive stars. Problem is that in high school they are so much better than everyone else, they just go after the ball on most plays and don't truly play a position. We have had several players, Steven on this years team and Beckwith a few years ago, that struggled their first couple of years in playing a structured defense and get them out of going for the ball.

Defense is so much about reaction that athleticism is a double edged sword. It is absolutely necessary but at lower levels can mask some mental deficiencies

But I’ll tell you what: the smartest guy in the room isn’t going to win games if he can’t run a guy down.

That’s how you end up coaching and not playing.

Jamal is a type and thinks he knows it all. Good player but definitely a hot dog. And I like JA.

Nothing better than keyboard jockeys calling kids, many of whom grew up in poverty that they are “selfish” for getting paid

Bama is the only team with more Natty's this century. WE win Nattys more consistently than all but Bama. Who the foooke do you think we should be emulating so it wouldn't be a "constant rebuild"? Kids nowadays ACT like Kids nowadays!

And I think that’s why half the reason Bama is who they are. They stress the process. We all make fun of the saying, but Saban can get multiple first round players to stay for their senior years and forgo the draft.

If you go to an SEC school most likely you’re going to the NFL.

Yeah...show some stats to back up your statement please. Like what % of SEC players go on to the NFL. 90%? 70? 10%? What number does "most likely" translate to?

The SEC represents about 20% of the players in the NFL, ~350 of the 1696 players

Interesting article. Dave Aranda pretty much tell you we recruit stupid players

What a fair and objective post. Not hysterical at all. It’s possible to give him credit for the good he’s done while also being critical when it is deserving but you sound like someone who is irrational regardless of the situation.

Interesting read.

Dave knew he had to teach some kids one on one. The swag is what made and makes jamal adams a great player.
That extra year makes a huge difference.

Just think if this year's team had queen, phillips, saadiq, and k'lavon. Like aranda said, right when the players are starting to get the concept, they leave.

Yes, which is why the dinosaur methods of fear based coaching like Pelini used don't work. You have to communicate with these kids in a way that they accept.

If anything I saw O chewing arse ans not Pelini. I wanted him fired but the defense did show signs of life at times. A lot of what I saw was a drop off in LB play as much as db. From my knowledge they had the same db coaches in Raymond and Bausch. People really love Raymond on here but I question his coaching.

I’d rather recruit elite athletes and 5stars and employ coaches that find a way to adapt their system to put them in places to succeed than have a bunch of high IQ football players that are slow and suck.

I’ll take a Jamal Adams every year. Just go get a coach that knows how to teach their system when the player is relying mostly on instincts.
