re: Over 1,000 jobs cut by company building Keystone XL pipeline after Biden ends project

There are 2.5 million miles of oil and gas pipelines in this country. What makes Keystone so scary? Let’s just shut them all down and see what happens. We can always just paint rainbows on cave walls and eat berries.

Elections have consequences, unfortunately
Particularly when you're electing presidents who can undo years of policy with the stroke of a pen. That goes for all of them. Force our government to work together to enact actual, real legislation. Over-reliance on Executive Orders needs to end.

Maybe they should make the pipeline from Mexico to Nebraska and put a human conveyor in it, along with air conditioning.

If constructed, the pipeline would have shipped 830,000 barrels per day of carbon-heavy oil from Alberta, Canada, to Nebraska. Opponents of the project have long considered its creation to be a setback for the United States' transition to cleaner energy.
Forgive me as I'm not that familiar with this part of the O&G industry, but isn't this oil going to still end up being transported to refiners and such now via train and truck?
Or is it just a ploy by the demwhits to now make it more expensive to get the oil to where it needs to be, that this will stop the movement altogether?

Pretty much. Railway is way more expensive and worse for the environment

Dumb. Now the oil will be transferred in less safe ways.
When their ideology is based on emotion over reason, this is what happens. Get ready for a wave of anti science, emotion driven poor decisions.
Wait intil he gets to guns and ammo to appease estrogen.

Is there such thing as carbon-light oil?
There are different grades of oil but are dependent on the amount of Sulfur in the oil.
There is a reason why some oil is called Light Sweet Louisiana Crude and others like Venezuelan Sour Crude.
Some refineries are better equipped at refining different grades.

I learned the other day that those blades on the wind turbines only last 2 years and no landfills will take them so there are piles of massive blades just stacked up that they can't do anything with
This is true, I have a friend from Kansas. He said most of the components were all made in China, and they vastly underperformed there life expectancy. Now they have huge yards all over with old turbine blades, and nowhere to go with them.

I wonder how many of these workers wives voted for Biden to get Facebook likes. Hope the repo man comes to get that Tahoe with the quickness.

For some reason, I thought this pipeline was already built.

The play is to make oil more expensive so that "green" energy will be cheaper than those dirty fossil fuels.

I have witnessed some stacked in staging at Casper, WY’s municipal landfill. They are made of fiberglass IIRC.

It's about 80-90% complete. The line from Nebraska to the Gulf Coast was already complete I believe.
