People really think their high school football bulk from 15 years ago still counts for something

Sounds like someone in denial.

Interesting take, but I think you’re wrong.

Like ive said before, the height to waist ratio is a much more valid method of determining if someone is healthy.

But the only way to truly know is to go right at the source. Get a body fat percentage test from a medical professional.

Getting your 7500 steps per day is probably "active".

Denial? it was sarcasm, pussy(mainly calling you that for being a little bitch on the money board)

I make no comments about me not being a fat frick right now(atleast what I consider to be one, 20% BF or so)

wrong about what? BMI being a useful tool for 98% of the population? or that lifting a couple years in high school while being on the football team doesnt carry over 20 years later? Im not wrong about either, its just idiots in denial.

Its pretty simple, if you can't do 5 dead hang chins (75% of this board cant and 90% of the population over 40 cant) then you are weak as shite or more than likely, you are fat.

Euros have long since accepted fatness as gross and unhealthy.

We need a renowned American university to have this study and the media to actually share it in primetime.

But that won't happen because of "fat shaming". It's so damn sad.

its weird how people who havent lifted in 15-20 years always claim to not be fat and that BMI doesnt apply to them.

Also funny when people say " nobody would ever say I am fat"

well no shite, because our vision about what is fat is so screwed up. I was 5'10" 245 and when I would say I was fat, people would be like, no way, maybe could lose 10-15 pounds at most.

Yea not fat, yet I couldnt tie my shoes without almost passing out. I was fat as frick. Hell Im 205 right now and consider myself a fat arse.

We should have something similar to the presidential fitness tests they had us do in elementary/middle school but for TD. If you pass you get a special star under your screen name.

funny thing is - the guy downstairs from me is fit, 2 years younger than me, vegetarian, hits the Gym 3 times a week and is very active - had dental surgery and suffered a heart attack - had triple bypass over Thanksgiving.

I was 320 back in October, slightly high Blood Pressure - yet all other bloodwork was perfect, heart was great as was Breathing. that said, I realized that despite that I needed to lose weight - and my wife and I changed our diets and lifestyle, and im down 64 pounds this morning since Oct 26th, and she is down pretty well also.

it is hard to have the mindset to change, when your doctor says your lab work is good and you are healthy - but in the end it is the person who has to decide they want to change - we did and it is the best decision we have made.

but i Digress - yes being overweight is decidedly not healthy, but sometimes the person accepts that they are ok, because the doctor tells them everything is fine, but doesn't stress home the seriousness of being overweight.

6'5" 185 for someone that doesnt really lift is about the right weight. Your vision is skewed bro.

I was 6'4" 170 back in high school, wasn't fun not having the strength to pull back a compound bow. I lift 4-5 times a week now and have completely accepted the fact that I am overweight.

because it is. By that chart I could be 130 lbs and be a normal weight. I would look like the Machinist at 130.

Chin ups are pretty easy imo. Pull ups are what kicks my arse pretty hard. I absolutely cannot do 5 pullups at this time

ugg have you seen the requirements?? for a 17 year old to get 85%

situps- 55 in 1 min
v-sit reach- +7"
Mile Run- 6:06
Pull ups- 13
pushups- 53

just to pass

situps- 44 in 1 min
v-sit reach- +3"
Mile Run- 7:04
Pull ups- 8
pushups- 37

I can tell you, 98% of this board can not run a 7 min mile. I know I sure as frick cant.

Also 98% of this board can not do 8 dead hang pullups

99% cant touch their toes, much less do +3'

would be like 3 people with the star
