Maybe I am reading it wrong, but it seems like this is a way to set up his reason for having a noodle this year and wanting to comeback?

Torn rotator cuff

- Plus, 11 broken ribs and a collapsed lung (which we already knew about)

Maybe so

Regardless, is it even possible to play with a torn rotator cuff or is she full of shite?

A torn rotator cuff doesn’t cause you not to know how to read defenses anymore

And yet he stayed in the lineup instead of being on the sideline so a healthy qb could be in the game.

Brees really stretched the field with his 15 yards of arm strength.

For a regular person that actually feels pain, no. For a pro athlete that has played with pain for over two decades, it's probably just another thing to deal with.

Unless I'm missing something, a torn rotator cuff surgery is hard to come back from, and even if you do it still saps more away. This screams retirement, not coming back.

If that's true that the Saints let him play with a torn rotator cuff, Sean Payton should be in some hot water. A QB with already mediocre range suffering an injury like that makes him non-viable as a starter.

I think they're just trying to defend his legacy and give more reasons why he's retiring at the same time.

I'll forever blame Jared Cook for that loss far more than Brees. That fumble changed the game and then he had a pass bounce off his chest when we still had a chance to be in it.

Yeah, if it's his throwing shoulder, which I assume it is, it'll take even more velocity and endurance away from his arm. He might not throw a pass further than 5 yards if he comes back

Why continue to play after two major injuries like that? The man doesn’t have anything left to prove and the Saints super bowl window is closing fast due to salary cap

Without the Cook fumble Saints are playing with a 10 or 14 point lead going into the 4th qtr. With the way they were running it, and Tampas struggle on offense, I have a tough time seeing the Bucs winning that game

Think it depends how it’s torn
Big Ben tore it a few years ago, and said it was torn a different way that didn’t affect him

Sounds like he doesn't want Brady breaking his career passing yardage record next year.

Torn Rotator Cuff is not a death sentence.

Depends on the thickness of the tear and how many of the 4 are involved.

I'm sure it still hurt pretty good.

But it does mean you can't throw to the open spot the defense is giving you.

Time to retire. So hard to come back from this stuff as you get older. I heard Bobby Hebert tell a story about retiring. He said when he started out he would hurt bad on Monday and by Tuesday, he was back ready to go. In his last year it was Saturday, he had to start against the Cowboys the next day and he said he was hurting bad still like he had played the day before. He knew it was time to go.
