He didn’t suck he just wasn’t great, and the players aren’t even. You are wrong. He left because you can’t game the system in the Pro’s like you can in college. In college you can out recruit everyone and in 2-3 years have the best team. It takes a lot of luck and a lot of good negotiation skills to have a long term great team in the NFL.

In addition to that, pros didn’t put up with his “Nicktator” bullshite because he couldn’t threaten to replace them with some kid who got offered a Charger.

Saban can only win if he vastly out talents his opponents. See LSU/Bama and MSU/Dolphins for your examples.

And yet the only other coach in that tree to be successful is Kirby Smart.
Don't count out Billy Napier just yet.

Nope. You realized you couldn’t cut it where you were.

You don’t win consistently in the NFL without a QB, a defense or preferably both.
He didn’t have either and realized he didn’t enjoy it as much as he did the college game where you have roster control and more authority over the players.
I think that fear of not having control kept him from jumping to Texas after they offered him a golden ticket financially.

Last time I looked "recruiting" was part of being a college coach

According to recruiting services... Georgia had the most talented roster this year

You're right they aren't the same. Richt had two SEC Championships by the end of his fifth season. Kirby just has the one.

He went 12-0 in the SEC in 2008 with Shula’s 3 stars and John Parker Wilson at QB and won the natty the next season.
Better for people to think you’re a dumbass than posting something like that to remove all doubt

Who’s doing better than Saban right now at growing and catapulting coaches into better jobs?
Posted on 1/20/21 at 9:02 pm to tide06
He didn't have a QB bc he chose Culpepper over Brees. Then blamed the medical staff after it became clear.

“Coaching trees” are often nonsense, unless the guy discovered you and really groomed your career.
I don’t consider Jimbo part of the Saban tree. If anything, he’s more a Bowden guy.
Muschamp only coached with Saban 4 years.
Kiffin and Sark both have more years with Pete Carroll than with Saban. Which tree are they from?

Considering he hasnt been a HC for no anywhere near the amount of time Jim Harbaugh's coaching tree is maybe more impressive

It’s the Don James coaching tree.

Another idiot who didn't look at Miami's record immediately before and after Saban's tenure with the Dolphins.

The last limb on Bryant's coaching tree is Arians. I think he's the only coach left that coached under him.
