I just finished the 2 episodes and really enjoyed them. I went in expecting something completely different, and that’s what I got. The little details in the shows like Stark Industries on the toaster with the single red light (Ep 1) and the Hydra logo on the watch (Ep 2) has me intrigued. I’m sure I’m not the only one who noticed it was the same man & woman in the 2 commercials, right?
I really tried to pinpoint who the voice was saying “Wanda” but can’t place it. Do we think it’s a character we’re familiar with? Or is it someone new?

Damn I love Paul Bethany. Definitely some of his ole Chaucer role in A Knights Tale in episode 2 a bit. He’s absolutely hilarious. And versatile.
And E. Olsen. From the OTnthread, I shamelessly crush on her. she’s drop dead gorgeous imo and really sold the style of those first two episodes while also letting slip a bit of vulnerability in trying to ignore the illusion she’s building.
Dunno how anyone could complain. We’re getting something vastly different from Marvel right now. I’m enjoying it. It was both light and fun while also having that undercurrent of something terribly wrong going on.
Also. A very stepford wives moment with the party planning.

The brand name on the watch was Strucker, too.

I watched Nick at Nite religiously growing up. That was the Dick Van Dyke house without a doubt. Him phasing through the ottoman while carrying Wanda felt like a nod to the old bit of DVD tripping over it in the opening.

They need to get this show moving. This set up is excruciatingly boring.

Any idea who the voice on the radio was?
I’m fairly certain it was Jimmy Woo. He’s been confirmed to appear in the show.

2 counter-points to that.
A: show already established that we were wrong thinking this is all Wanda creating a fake reality. Someone is clearly monitoring her.
B: we got hints of S.W.O.R.D. and A.I.M. in the series already.
While not a lot of action happened, they are clearly setting up for a lot of payoff later. It's not surprising that they released the first two together, as they are the slow burn. As mentioned previously, supposedly the third episode cranks things up.
But these two episodes will do a ton to generate discussion on the show while we wait the week, which is perfect for Disney.

Yup. Feel like the posters saying they actually enjoyed the first 2 episodes are just lying.

It was disappointing for sure but I enjoy it because I’m looking in the fine details. I’m expecting this to be a lull and the rug to be pulled out from us at a certain point and shite gets real. I highly doubt this is a series but really just a miniseries.

I’m wondering after any reveals happen how these two episodes will look on rewatch. They crammed a ton of small details into the show, I’m wondering what were hints and what were red herrings.

Some background on the 2 "commercials"
WandaVision Easter Eggs
I'm really interested to see how they pull all the lapses in the fantasy to what is trying to "get through" to Wanda. Those freaky moments of Vision pulling the meat out of his "boss" & the little toy helicopter in the roses & even Wanda not being able to magic a dinner party together once she realizes she is hosting.
The angle is Vision working a job he doesn't understand what they do is interesting too.
The voices coming through from "reality".
Add it all together; it's setting up for a (hopefully) cool reveal.

I also wonder who is pulling the strings and if Agatha is helping out why is she constantly trying to drop hints. Is the boss mafesto and why is the wife so on wandas side. Why are characters trying to help them realize they are fricked up

The first episode was kind of a snoozer. But really I'm trying to pay attention to the easter eggs of what the heck is going on.
1. At the dinner, the wife of the boss just smiling and saying "stop it". That was weird, and I'm not too sure what it means other than the lady maybe wants her husband dead.
2. The scene with the radio. To me it sounds like Wanda may be in some sort of coma potentially, and people are trying to talk to her to snap her out of it in the real world.
3. What's up with the beekeeper guy at the end? Wanda saw him and immediately rewinded time. I know there is significance there, I just don't know what. Is that a Marvel comic book character anyone?

I liked it quite a bit actually so you can go sit on your thumb and twirl.
I watched a ton of old shows on Nick and Night when I was young and they absolutely nailed the aesthetic. From the set and costume design, to way they were shot, using the old 4:3 aspect ratio, to having mono audio, and going so far as to have that slightly echoey room audio in the first episode that many old shows suffered from. I'll be surprised if this doesn't get several creative arts Emmy nominations.

Thinking it might be her reality’s closest approximation of an AIM agent.

I liked it. I described it in basic terms to my dad though and he said he was going to watch it and then decided he’ll wait to watch

10 minutes into first episode. What the frick is this shite.

I was disappointed we didn’t get more. Even if this wasn’t a marvel product and had none of the superpowers I’d be down. They’re recreating the 50s sitcom tropes, themes, music, set, everything perfectly. It feels just like an episode of Andy griffin.

It’s different, but they are obviously building up the world and doing character development. Shows like this have to be slow at first considering it’s a mystery. Leaving little clues while also seeing how the world changes from episode to episode build up suspense and make for a better second and third act. While it may not have been for everyone they are doing something different and original and I can respect that. I like the direction they are going. They can’t blow their load on the first two episodes when they have 9 total.
