There are CBA provisions that eventually allow a team to withhold pay if the player's absence is unexcused.

Teams will often not use it so as not to develop ill will with players.

In this case they definitely should.

I would assume that he doesn't get paid for any games he sits out. Right?

I would also like to reiterate that the Nets will not win a title this year.

I don’t follow the NBA, but is Kyrie the NBA version of Antonio Brown?

AB at least has the excuse that the hit Vontaze Burfict put on him gave him brain damage. Kyrie is just an entitled bitch.

Fun fact: I went to a Pels game last year against the Nets and asked a relative of a member of the Nets (and I know unequivocally that this person is) if last years squad hated Irving. Yes, yes they did.

I don’t think he loves the game anymore, and I’ll continue to cite the lack of joy he had winning a title.

Stephen A might be right, he might need to just hang it up.

Kyrie was raised by his father.

There’s got to be a way for them to release him for breach of contract right? I’d imagine they will look for a trade partner first, but what would they realistically get for him?

Who in there right mind would want him? This isnt the nfl there isnt a lockerroom to keep him in line.
The nba is a bunch of pampared pussies who over evaluate there worth. And management placates the behavior
With exception of lebron whom I detest none of them are worth it.

So if he is healthy and refuses to play can the Nets go after his contract?

I can't comprehend how big of a dink you have to be to get on Brad Stevens' bad side.

This seems eerily reminiscent of Stephon Marbury’s downward spiral out of the league.
