Man, with all the transfers this time of year, had me thinking how much Myles Brennan has been through.. I think this will be his 4th OC, (not positive) regardless the kid has stuck out his commitment and finally earned his turn and went out because of injury. All this to say, I’m happy for the kid and look forward to watching him execute next season.

The best quarterback should win the job, regardless of their situation. If that happens to be Myles, then that’s great

My favorite QB. I think he wins the job.

Max Johnson is 50-1 to win the Heisman, Brennan nowhere to be found. Just something that makes me go hmmm.

I don’t care if Finley or Nuss win it. Just get the best QB to run the offense. The guys they beat out would understand why.

Do folks realize MB is probably the best qb in the conference going into 2021? Top 3 lock. If you disagree, give me 3 better.

It’s crazy people are talking about him not being the guy. Max has a bright future but unless there’s an injury he’s the clear #2.

Good to know we have a very experienced backup if Max were to get hurt.

It's his third OC. Canada 2017. Ensminger was OC 18 to 20, but the offense changed dramatically over this time.

Any way, much respect to Myles for sticking with LSU. True tiger.

If brennan’s chances of starting are not better than 65% then he should transfer imo

This is his only shot and he cannot afford to let it go

I wish it were not so

This could of course change if Brennan is limited or misses spring ball or fall camp, but if healthy, I would expect him to start against UCLA.

The only way I see this changing is if Brennan doesn't take the first snap in fall practice. Even with an "open" competition, I believe Brennan is too polished to do anything to lose that advantage in practice and limited contact scrimmages. I am not saying he is the best QB we have moving forward, just that he will likely be the first man up to prove it.

Johnson, Finley, or even Nussmeier may very well be the guy at some point in the season, but I just do not see it happening from day 1 if Brennan is 100%.

I like Brennan and I respect his dedication and commitment to LSU. With that being said, however, I think Max played much better in a number of ways. When receivers were covered or the LBs were playing off, he used his feet to take advantage of the situation. When his first option was covered, he quickly went to his second and third option. I think his biggest advantage is his poise as a QB. Against Florida, on the road, he looked like a seasoned veteran out there. That's very impressive for a true freshman.

I don’t know who will win the job but Max Johnson is clearly the best run/pass QB. Which is the type of QB needed to run this Brady type offense

We have three talented QBs on the roster. Can’t wait for the competition in the spring, if they all stay that is. All three are going to get even better.

Depends on how you count them.

Canada (1)
E (2)
E with Brady (3)
E without Brady ( do you count this as 4?)
Peetz (4 or 5)

There at least was continuity in the last 3

People forget how well Myles played. Max is a great option for the future and if Myles gets hurt but the dude needs a LOT of improvement. Myles was lights out. Max Johnson’s accuracy is nothing by comparison.

Brennan plus these new offensive coaches will be a great combo. Max too. And I can’t wait to see how the mew freshman phenom will do (Nussmeier). Finley is a beast too. Brennan is more mature, experienced, and smarter due to his age and time with the team. If he’s healthy the job should be his. But they will compete for the starting job for sure. But Myles was slinging the ball in those first 3 games and he will be better protected once the new OC gets his reps and schemes in place. Really excited for 21.

This is the deepest QB room we may well have ever had. But someone is transferring. 4 guys is too much to keep fed.

The playing field has been leveled and reset. Nussmeier/Johnson will be in a battle for the starting spot IMHO.
