I have the feeling Napier is waiting for the LSU job and he very well might get it. If LSU isn't improved at least to a runner-up finish in the SEC West, I think Orgeron will be fired.

Do you actually think O would get fired for going 11-2/10-3 and being behind bama and aTm next year? Or is that part just a troll?

Honestly, it’s not the craziest idea.

Per some of our people, he's legitimately committed to positioning himself for the Bama job. Seems crazy with Sark, etc., but they're adamant that his moves are all tailored toward it and not doing anything to damage his chances.

I guess we'll see when LSU comes open. LSU obviously seems like a fit.

Don’t see LSU hiring the coach at U-LA-LA.

This isn’t AU.

So now we're cool with 3rd in the west? I guess we'll see who comes back for A&M, but 4 offensive lineman were seniors and so was their qb.

I can't see Bama going that route, they'll throw the bank at Dabo or another top tier coach.

What if it’s Bama No. 1, aTm No. 5, LSU No. 6. You still gonna fire Oeaux?

I don't think Dabo goes to Tuscaloosa. Why would he? Dabo has been giving his staff one day off per week during the season for years now. Man, the first time he would lose to LSU or Auburn that day off stuff wouldn't go over well.

But, you hired a career position coach who was a miserable failure the one previous time he was a full-time, non-interim head coach at a college program. And, that same coach is firing coaches off his staff now to save his arse.

I don't know if Napier gets the Bama job but I have to think going forward he's an attractive potential candidate at LSU and Texas.

Permanently? Of course not. But the question was whether or not O gets fired next year for being 3rd in the west. Not after finishing 3rd for the 4th year in a row after the 2024 season

And I think that if LSU goes 10-3 next year with all the promising freshmen this year becoming sophomores there will be a lot of excitement going into a year with a junior Max Johnson, Boutte, Roy, etc. And I think it's asinine to think O would be fired in that scenario.

But that's just me.

I don’t think there’s a certain job he’s holding out for, I think he knows what he wants as far as control and assistant pool and he’s going to hold out until he’s offered a gig where they agree to his terms.

Napier has passed now on Missouri, Arkansas, South Carolina, and Auburn.

He ain’t leaving unless it’s a big boy. And I don’t think Saban will be gone by the time a big boy comes calling.
