So many of you are pointing to one game where TJ looked good against, what we now know, was an absolutely terrible USCe team. It was also pretty much exclusively one read plays.

Now take what was run with Max against Fla and Ole Piss. A lot spread, empty looks where he had to diagnose the defense, go through a progression, and make the right throw. It was similar to play calls with Brennan back there. Was he perfect? Of course not. But that’s where the true difference in TJ and Max is. Can TJ develop that and become dangerous? I guess we’ll see. But like another poster said, with Nussmeyer coming in, does TJ even stick around to find out? My guess is he enters the portal after spring.

I’d like to believe it’s that way at LSU.

It is. The people who are saying this have never been in a football locker room. When you’re in the trenches, no one gives a frick about race. This ain’t no damn FOX News or CNN. It’s helping your brother when the shite hits fan and have one common goal of getting this W. The only people that care about race is the section of fans that love controversy

Both were early enrollees.

I know, but it was posted that TJ still got on campus sooner. Maybe due to Max's team being in the playoffs or possibly since TJ was from Ponchatoula.

Max has been being prepared to play QB at a high level since he was old enough to walk. Just seems if they were even then that alone would’ve been the deciding factor.

I’m not saying you’re wrong, but think about the two that looked comfortable out there this season. One was a redshirt junior who’s trained with Brett Favre most of his career and the other’s dad was an NFL QB and has a super bowl ring. Are you sure it’s been LSU’s staff that has developed them?
This statement right here is the rant in a nutshell. No matter what the coaching staff will never get any credit but will always be blamed. This place is overrun with retards.

I mean he gave Clark and curry number 18 and would rave about them in nearly every interview. His player evaluation is suspect.

The staff deserves credit for the development of Brennan. Max came with an advantage bc his dad (an NFL QB) has admittedly been preparing him for years. IMO both are kudos for our staff, one for developing a QB and one for finding an already well prepared QB.

QB recruiting and development has substantially improved since Les. Finley did well also for a true freshman with a very abbreviated offseason.

You do realize Max is not small or rail thin right?

Do you have any idea what the outrage would have been if we started the white qb over the black qb to start out the gate? Had to give Finley the first chance in today’s cancel culture.

I think you just have to look at Finley’s first game and you get your answer. He had/has the highest upside. Max for all the good he has done limits the offense because he can’t make all the throws, while Finley can. But Max has a steady presence about him that I think this team needed.

If both were even close as passers and Max showed any ability to run the ball you’d think our coaches would see that he is the best option. The fact that they didn’t and continued to throw Finley out there each week tells me there was a different reason.

Brennan started “out the gate” FWIW

And there was no outrage when Finley was benched

Y’all have created these scenarios in your heads because y’all are obsessed with this shite

TJ has an arm, but he is not as mobile and it isnt as cool in the pocket as Max. I pull for the Louisiana kids first, but Max came in and took care of business.

You guys have been talking all season about “locker room problems” related to the BLM march by the players...I think it’s pretty obvious that was a factor in TJ starting as O said they were basically even in practice. We would have beaten aTm if Max had started that game but Florida probably wouldn’t have overlooked us so that may be a wash from a wins standpoint.

That said, I hope TJ hangs in there and takes 2 years to learn the position and reads better. He has a better arm than Max, is bigger, and could be a great QB.

I just don't see how TJ really fits with the offense we are running now. Sure he can throw but if you are gonna run RPO with some zone read type plays then the QB needs to be athletic and mobile.
